•  There  are  5  books  within  Psalms  •  Each  has  a  different  character  •  There  are  various  themes  in  each,  they  tend  to  connect  and  return  like  melodies  and  countermelodies

•   The  central  character  of  Psalms  is  not  David,    but  Jesus  

•  We  can  look  at  the  psalms  as  represenGng  a  believer  struggling  and  working  through  issues  in  a  walk  of  faith    

•  That  is  secondary  and  should  be  taken  in  the  light  of  who  Jesus  is  and  what  Jesus  did  which  is  the  primary  purpose  of  the  Psalms
