It arrived by ballast water

It came in 1998

It came from Caspian, Ireland Azov seas in Europe

HOW IS THIS ORGANISM HARMFUL? Eats and competes

with native zoo plankton

Can’t be swallowed by small fish

Not very nutritious Clogs up nets and

fishing lines Causes problems for

multibillion dollar fishing industries

Once it is there it cannot be stopped

Wash out your stuff that is in the infested lakes to prevent spreading the organism to other waters

I think this species is a horrible invasion

It multiplies really really fast
