Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Supporters,

In 2018, we entered into our 76th year serving more than 2,000 young people every day throughout Greater Seattle. The past year was marked by many significant achievements and opportunities, helping us define key areas for growth in 2019.

At Boys & Girls Clubs, our goal is to provide a world-class Club experience that ensures success is within reach of every young person who comes through our doors. In 2018, we continued to dig deeply into program quality by focusing on academic access and social & emotional development. We prepared 6,341 kids and teens for college, careers, and their life through our academic support programs.

To support this important work, we saw a significant increase in philanthropic support from our community of individual and institutional partners. The immense generosity of these caring individuals and institutions allowed us to invest time and effort into how we can most efficiently reach more kids and have greater impact. 2018 laid the groundwork for establishing a highly effective community engagement program and resulted in a significant increase in our contributions over the previous financial year.

This fundraising success has ignited this work and positioned us to welcome more young people, serve them in the best way possible, and continue to be a cornerstone resource for our kids. Over the next year, we will vigorously pursue new possibilities to reach underserved communities. Sustained and deepened philanthropic relationships are an integral part of our ability to unleash the potential in youth throughout Greater Seattle.

Thank you for being a part of this community and a partner in our work to ensure all kids, especially those who need us most, have access to Boys & Girls Clubs. You are making a significant impact.

In community,

Piper

2019 KING COUNTY YOUTH OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Adam for receiving the Quincy Robertson Service &

Leadership Award in recognition for service to his Club and community. This

award was introduced in 2019 and is named after Quincy Robertson, who

spent his 39-year career serving youth and his community in countless ways.

Congratulations to Piper for being named King County Youth of the Year in recognition of her leadership, service, academic excellence, and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle. Piper represented King County youth at the Washington State Competition on March 28th.

This year, we had the privilege of honoring 8 outstanding youth from across our 31 Clubs. At our Youth of the Year ceremony, each honoree shared their successes, triumphs, and hopes for the future with members of our community. Congratulations to this incredible group of young leaders!
