First Term Syllabus 2016-17 Grade: 3 English : Reading Skill: Comprehension (unseen passage): Should be able to read unfamiliar texts with understanding the meaning of lexical items and answer questions based on it (containing 10marks). Aural (Listening) Skill: Should be able to listen to unfamiliar recording pieces and answer question based on it. The marks obtained from Reading and Aural assessments will be added with internal assessment markings.     MCQ

    This section consists of a set of objective type questions such as multiple choice question (MCQ), true-false (T/F), matching items (M/J), fill in the blanks (F/B), one word question answers (O/W/Q/A)etc. The section carries 35% of the total marks of the paper (14/40)

    SECTION B

    STRUCTURED( B/Q/A, S/Q/A, Short Notes)

    This section consists of a set of structured questions and carries 40% (16/40)of the total marks of the paper. The questions will test whether students are able to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of content materials.

    SECTION C

    EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE (Diagrams)

    This section consists of a set of structured questions designed to test familiarity with laboratory-based procedures. For example draw and label/ identify/ label different diagrams. This section carries 25% (10/40)of the total marks of the paper. Students will be tested on whether they are able to represent/ identify/interpret different experimental diagrams through labeling or explanation.
