What do you do when you are between a rock and a hard place? Between the devil and the deep blue sea? When to go forward means risk and struggle and possibly pain, and to go back means defeat, despair and death? We all find ourselves in those places at some time in our life. Even the church finds itself there. It is nothing new. So what do we do when we find ourselves there? Moses and the children of Israel were fleeing Egypt, going to freedom and the promised land. But before they even reached the wilderness, they became caught between the Egyptian army and the Red Sea. To go forward, even if God did a miracle (which He did), would mean risk and pain. To go back would be slavery and death. It was in that place that God taught them some powerful lessons, lessons that would get them through the next forty years. And there are lessons for us, too. Beginning today, we are going to be looking at “the Red Sea rules,” things God teaches us to get us through our own wilderness. Remember, the God who led you to the wilderness will lead you through it.
