Transylvania. A group of students from Cluj is assisting in leading worship, group discussions, and bible study workshops. Pray for the young people attending, that they will be transformed by the grace of Christ. Paul Ferguson arrived home safely from Romania/Hungary on Wednesday night. Days 13 to 15 KENYA Cattle rustling is ongoing around Tuum and the new government is planning a series of security meetings to address peoples’ fears and concerns. The authorities need to be serious about taking appropriate steps to stop the flow of weapons from neighbouring countries. Praise God for six people converted last Saturday at the new fellowship at Wuaso Rongai. Give thanks for an invitation for Stephen Cowan to preach at Lonjerin which is now accessible using the road put in by the schools’ project, assisted by McCracken Memorial congregation. Alistair Chestnutt & Philip Houston (volunteers from PCI Youth Board) are in Zombe working in Literacy and Bible Education. Paul Bailie still needs treatment for injuries he received in a recent attack on their home. Derek & Linda Roulston have just left Amy & Laura-Jayne back to boarding school. Days 16 to 20 MALAWI Michelle Evans arrived safely last Tuesday to teach in Bandawe Girls’ Secondary School. In Karonga, Claire McIntyre’s watchman, Gordon, is ill and unable to work and he is in a lot of physical pain and discomfort, both day and night. There was such joy at SCOM annual Easter Conference when around 250 young people gave their lives to Christ! Shirley Stronge reports that a new intake of first year nursing students started last Monday. Give thanks that some final year students are willing to stay on and others have applied to come to Ekwendeni, which will help greatly with staffing, but accommodation needs to be found soon for these new staff members, otherwise they may not want to keep working in Ekwendeni. Days 23 and 24 INDIA James & Willi Barton are preparing to return to Ireland this summer for Home Assignment, leaving the children’s work in good hands. Though exhilarated at the numbers of young people coming to faith, the Bartons are actually quite drained and feel in need of a break. Pray for the trained helpers that they will undertake the task with faith and commitment while James & Willi are home. Brian Wilson needs wisdom about a minor medical concern as he prepares to come home on final furlough. Days 26 and 27 NEPAL Important UMN Board meetings finish tomorrow. Pray that the fragile peace may continue to hold in Nepal. Encouragingly, people are becoming more hopeful of a solution. UMN are currently looking at different regions in Nepal for its future work. The leadership decided to use the model in Numbers 13 & 14/Deuteronomy 1 of sending 'spies' to report back. Teams have been formed and 'commissioned' for the task. Pray for protection, especially as they will be going into very remote areas. Offertory Doxology

Forbid it, Lord that I should boast save in the cross of Christ my God;

The very things that charm me most – I sacrifice them to his blood.

Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were an offering far too small;

Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.

Prayer of Humble Access before Communion (Scottish Liturgy 1637)

We do not presume to come to this your table, merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in

your great mercy. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under your table. But you,

Lord, are full of mercy. We turn to you, confessing our unworthiness and sinfulness…make us clean

through Christ’s sacrifice; wash our souls in his most precious blood, that we may ever more dwell in

him and he in us. Amen.

When I Say I am a Christian

When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I am saved", I'm whispering, "I was lost".

When I say..."I am a Christian", I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble

and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian", I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and

pray for His strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian", I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and

cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian", I'm not claiming to be perfect, my flaws are too visible but

God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian", I still feel the sting of pain, I have my share of heartaches, so

I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian", I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner, I've

received God's grace, somehow.

When I say..."I am a Christian", I do not wish to judge. I have no authority of my own. I only

know I'm loved.

The ‘Day’ and ‘Country’ designations below refer to the respective right-hand page(s) in the 2003

Edition of the Points for Prayer Handbook, which contains useful background information to these

prayer requests from overseas.

Days 2 and 3 – JAMAICA – There have recently been elections of elders for three-year terms in three

of the four congregations in which Joan & Malcolm Scott are involved in ministry, with four of those

elected becoming elders for the first time. With four churches to look after, Joan & Malcolm usually

don’t get to more than two of them on any one Sunday, so the elders often carry more responsibility

than may be the case at home.

Day 9 – ROMANIA – This weekend Csaba Veres is leading a ‘caravan’ youth mission in Zabola, in
