• The TSAG Home Maintenance Workshop was designed in partnership with CMHC to deliver basic home maintenance to home occupants (housing staff, etc.)

• This is achieved through hands‐on demonstrations, instructional videos, topics that include: Exterior, Interior, Plumbing, Septic Systems, Healthy Housing, Appliance and Heating, and Waste Management.

Outcomes of the Workshop

• Alleviate some of the pressure that the housing departments deal with when it comes to the simple issues

• I encourage them to depend on themselves to do the simple repairs

• By Completing this workshop I can feel confident that the ones who complete the full 3 days will leave learning new tips and tricks

Conclusion

• I believe with the right attitudes towards our housing concerns and care and maintenance in our communities we can move forward knowing that we are steadily working towards improvements and passing homes onto the next generations that will come after us.

• It takes a community to overcome obstacles, but once we create that awareness we can make the changes needed to implement good housing policies to encourage the home occupants to do their part when it comes to their homes.
