The meeting is open to the public at: 6:00 PM 109 North Front Street First Floor Conference Room Downtown Columbus The Long Street Cultural Wall is being designed by Larry Winston Collins and Kojo Kamau, two home-grown artists selected by the public and a community-based advisory committee to create a work of public art on the south side of the new Long Street Bridge. The wall will artistically honor and celebrate the rich cultural history of the Bronzeville area (King-Lincoln and Discovery Districts), using a mixture of black and white photographs and photographs of linoleum-cut carvings. The mural will be displayed on 60, four ft. by eight ft. panels mounted on a 240-foot long concrete wall. The wall will be subtly lit at night and only visible if travelling on Long Street, not from I-71 below.

The Long Street Bridge is a signature project because of the first of its kind cultural wall onone side of the bridge and public green space on the north side. The public space is beingbuilt to accommodate a commercial "cap", should a developer decide to construct futurebuildings on the bridge similar to the cap on North High Street in the Short North. The bridge and cultural wall are being designed to reconnect the two neighborhoodsseparated by I-71 when it was built in the sixties. Images on the wall will pay tribute tomany of the iconic people and places who have contributed to the strength and characterof the community. The cultural wall is expected to be unveiled in early November.

    to I-71 north

Right lane closure of 670 east from Cleveland to St Clair from 9 pm to 5 am each
