Los Angeles County enriches lives in so many ways. We’re famous for spectacular Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl performances, priceless art exhibits, and inviting beaches. We also provide a network of bike pathshiking trails, and open spaces along the Los Angeles River, San Gabriel River, and Rio Hondo, and a full roster of family-friendly sports and recreational activities each season. Our clinics and hospitals keep communities healthy. Our Sheriff’s deputies, fire fighters and public works personnel keep communities safe. And our libraries, parks, and senior centers keep communities cohesive with local festivals, fairs and Farmers’ Markets.

Because you live in an Unincorporated Area – rather than an independent city– your local government representatives are the members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Similarly, services that are ordinarily provided by an independent municipality – such as road maintenance, trash collection, parks and libraries – are instead provided by the County. This Welcome Brochure will help you become familiar with and make use of the many services that Los Angeles County has to offer its unincorporated residents.
