Sermon on the Mount At the beginning of the Gospel of Matthew, a crowd gathers around Jesus as he begins to tell them, “This is who I am and this is what my ministry is all about.” That speech is known as the Sermon on the Mount. As a community that follows Jesus with our whole being, we seek to be a place that lives out Jesus’ kingdom in our world. This January-March we will be exploring the Sermon on the Mount passage-by-passage as we seek to live out its truth in all that we do.

VBS Information Meeting: Believe it or not, it is time for us to start thinking about VBS 2016. This year our Vacation Bible School will be July 11-14. Our theme will be Cave Quest: Following Jesus, The Light of the World. Our VBS co-Directors will be Erin Kenkel and Jessica Tankersley. Our first informational meeting for anyone who wants to help with the planning of VBS will be January 24 at 2:00 PM in the Church Conference Room.

On Wednesday nights starting February 3rd, Pastor Tyler Tankersley will be leading a 7-week discussion series called animate : faith. It’s an adult spiritual formation course that focuses on seven big conversations around Christian faith: God, Religion, Jesus, Salvation, Cross, Bible, and Church. This discussion group is open to all who are interested in exploring the content of their own faith. Each participant in the study will also be encouraged to use one of the Animate Journals that will help as we journey through the study. Each journal is $15.00. To receive a journal contact Tyler at tyler@fbccape.com by Wednesday, January 20.
