MEMBER BIRTHDAYS CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY WOMEN’S MINISTRY NEWS YOUTH NEWS FAMILY PROMISE ALL AMERICAN ATHLETES JUST JOY DANCE MISSION NEWS CALENDAR OF EVENTS

We are so delighted that God has added to our local church family. I’d like to give our normal Pastor’s spot to these folks so that we can learn more about them and what God has been doing in their lives. Please join me in welcoming our newest members to the life of First ARP.

We are excited to welcome

David Barnes. David was born and raised in Rock Hill. He attended Northwestern for high school, Clemson for undergraduate, and is currently in the MBA program at Winthrop with an expected completion in the spring of 2018. He currently works as a Financial Analyst at Comporium.

David enjoys spending time with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Griffey. He likes hunting and fishing (anything outdoors really), and watching sports (most importantly Clemson football!)

We are excited to welcome Jeff and Beth Diers.

Jeff retired in April after a 42 year career in insurance, a career that took them to many cities (Louisville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, and Charlotte.) While in Atlanta, they were a part of Barry and Sarah’s congregation before the Dagenharts were called to First ARP. Jeff and Beth retired to a home on Lake Wylie and enjoy spending time with family and friends on the lake. Other hobbies include tennis, golf, and volunteering.

The Diers have two adult children, Lindsey and Brent, who both live in the area. In October, they celebrated Brent’s marriage to his wife, Jamie.

From Garden to Glory The Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is a beautiful, epic, and cohesive story. It is the story of how our eternal God is on a grand mission to redeem and restore his rebellious and wayward children. But, it is not a story meant merely to inform us. The story itself is meant to transform us and invite us to participate in the glorious redemption of all things! Cost is $25 (to help purchase video)

MISSION SPOTLIGHT: David and Annelies Galletta

David and Annelies Galletta began missionary service with World Witness in 2001, serving in

Moscow, Russia, until that term ended in 2005. A former PCA and ARP pastor, David (D.Min.)

presently is a member of the Mobile Theological Training Team (MT3), which trains pastors and

church leaders in their own countries and cultures. He travels regularly to Kenya, South

Africa, and Pakistan, where he teaches modular classes in Bible and theology, particularly

working to help pastors learn how to preach Christ-centered, redemptive sermons from the

Biblical text. When he is not teaching a course or preparing to do so, he is working on his PhD in New Testament and Biblical Theology through

the University of Wales, UK and recently submitted his dissertation. The Gallettas have

three daughters. Please pray for their ministry of training pastors and leaders internationally.

MISSION OPPORTUNITY: Palmer Home for Children July 9-15, 2017

The Mission Trip Planning Committee is delighted to announce a new mission opportunity for the summer of 2017. A group will travel to Palmer Home for Children in Oxford, Mississippi. Many of you know that Sarah, Mary Margaret, Trip and Ann Grace Donohue, grandchildren of Margaret and George Coxhead, are there now. What a special joy it will be to spend time with them again! Palmer gladly accepts groups of 2-30 volunteers on a weekly basis. We would travel to Columbus (8+ hours) on Sunday, July 9 and return the following Saturday. Monday-Friday we would volunteer our services by working in the greenhouses, deep cleaning the cottages, working on the grounds, etc. Mission teams frequently bring canned foods, toiletries, sheets (twin), towels, dry goods, and cleaning supplies.

We will be housed and fed at Palmer for $25 per person/per night. Please prayerfully consider being part of this team and contact Jeanie (803-230-3487) or Walter Revell if you have questions. They would love to add you to the team.

For more information about the Palmer Home click the logo to be directed to their website.
