TECHNICAL CLARIFICATIONS
Dear Mr. Golsorkhi, With regards to your mail of October 5, please see our response below: MAPNA Comments – October 5, 2009 Patterson Response –October 6, 2009 1. The curve of pumps shall be submitted as
per required capacity in data sheets (4200 & 2100 GPM not 4000 & 2000 GPM) and specified operation point on curve.
Please see attached curve for Q = 4200 GPM and Q = 2100 GPM. Please note that pumps are UL listed, FM approved for Q = 4000 GPM and Q = 2000 GPM.
2. Altitude correction factor for ARDEBIL site
shall be considered in selection of diesel pumps.
The derating power for 1340 m is 0.86. Engine site power at 1340 m elevation is : 360 x 0.86 = 310 HP. The max pump power is 280 HP.
3. Fuel daily tank for each diesel pump shall
be considered. Each package is provided with 440 gallon fuel tank.
4. Flow meter for test line and relief valve for
diesel pump shall be considered. One flow meter is provided. One pressure relief valve for each diesel package is provided (total 2 pcs).
5. Below mention tests shall be done under
witness:
a) Standard Shop Test Provided. b) Hydrostatic Test Provided. c) Mechanical Running & Performance
Test Performance test for all main pumps provided. Mechanical running test is done in the field by our Service Engineer. We can perform mechanical running test for pump with diesel engine and controller at the factory for one hour.

d) NPSH Performance Test If NPSH A > NPSH R by more than 1 m, the NPSH test is not required. Our pumps have NPSH R 3.5 m and NPSH A is over 7 m and the difference is 3.5 m or more. Therefore, no NPSH test is required. Please note that in order for fire pumps to be UL listed and FM approved, they need to have low NPSH R.
