Information

The FSD-TD Series fire damper is carefully engineered to

for use in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC)

systems at fire boundaries to maintain compartmentation and protect

means of escape in case of fire. They also have the advantage of having

reduced smoke leakage characteristics. They can respond to a smoke

alarm input as well as having a failsafe thermal fuse.

Integration with systems such as BSB’s smoke control panels will give

this functionality.

For use in HVAC ductwork systems to safely fulfil the regulations in the

form of Approved Document B (ADB) to protect both escape routes

and areas with sleeping risk, as well as standard compartmentation.

Features and Benefits

• Standard construction is a fully welded galvanised steel case

• Galvanised mild steel, Ferritic (430) type 1.4016 or Austenitic (316) 1.4401 grade stainless steel blades available with folded safe-edges.

• Blade and motor connecting drives removed from airstream

Information

The FSD-C Motorised Failsafe Single Blade Fire/Smoke

Damper has adjustable blade position facility to additionally

allow for volume control air balance setting.

The FSD-C damper has a unique tested blade construction and

installation plate with engineered fixing holes that acts as a template for

marking the fixing positions.

Features and Benefits

• Tested and certified installation variants of the FSD-C are available

for both blockwork and stud partitions.

• All BSB tested installation methods give at least a E90 classification.

• Unique blade construction.

• Halogen free LSF cable

• Exceeds the requirements of EN1366-2

FD SeriesFire Dampers

Information

The FD Series Steel Curtain Fire Damper is designed to stop the

spread of fire through ducts, walls, floors and ceilings.

The product range has many features and options to meet the

requirements of specifiers, contractors, local and national authorities.

Dampers are available to suit both low/medium and high velocity

applications.

Features and Benefits

• The majority of the FD product variants are covered by third party

Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) product certification.

This represents both full BS EN ISO 9001 quality compliance and a

guarantee that the products are fully representative of those actually

tested.

• Tested and certified installation variants of the FD are available to

cover masonry walls, dry walls, batt walls and floors. These cover the

majority of applications/supporting constructions that are required

to maintain compartmentation.

• All BSB tested installation methods give at least a E120 classification,

usually only limited by the wall construction used. This is extended

to E240 when installed using a HEVAC frame in a

masonry/blockwork floor or wall.

• Sleeve and angle methods, HEVAC frame methods, cleat and drop

rod methods and batt infill methods are available.

• Some rarer installation applications are covered by assessment/test

information to BS 476-20/22.

FD-C SeriesSingle Blade Externally Resettable Combination Fire andVolume Control Dampers

Information

The FD-C Manual Operation Single Blade Fire Damper with volume

control facility has been designed specifically for installations where

space is at a premium and installation within the fire separation is not

feasible.

The testing and resetting of the damper and fusible link external of the

duct allows for ease of commissioning and maintenance.

The installation plate, with its engineered location and installation

perforations, acts as a template to allow the marking of the fixing

positions on the surface structure to which the plate will be affixed,

allowing for a quick and efficient install.

• Tested and certified installation variants of the FD-C are available for

both blockwork and stud partitions.

• All BSB tested installation methods give at least a E90 classification.

Damper Control SystemsElectro Mechanical and Fully Addressable

Information

BSB offer two alternative panels when monitoring and controllingdampers. The Electro Mechanical System and the Fully AddressableSystem.

Electro mechanical panels are generally used for up to 30 dampers andwhere hard wiring costs are not an issue. The control system beinghardwired and the facia being engraved, means that any changes willrequire physical alterations and additional costs.

Standard Electro Mechanical Control and Monitoring System

Provides a straight forward control panel offering the most commonfeatures called for as standard.

Premier Electro Mechanical Control and Monitoring System

Controls and monitors a number of smoke/fire dampers hard wiredindividually or in groups, in a single or multiple zone arrangement.

Dampers can be individually or collectively controlled and arecontinuously monitored.

Fully Addressable Control and Monitoring System

Software driven panel simplified installation and commissioning. Utilisesdata wiring in a loop configuration. Can be configured to suit all types ofsystem. Fully integrated and secure network provides an intelligentinterface for building control.

Touch screen options are available allowing system interrogation, Touchscreen with Graphic CAD based floor plans, mimic style displays andoptional BACnet interface complete the range.

SC SeriesSmoke Dampers

Information

The SC series Smoke/Control damper has been designed for thecontrol of smoke within ducted systems where the migration of hot orcold smoke requires to be contained to allow the safe evacuation ofoccupants via designated thoroughfares.

The SC damper additionally allows for the clearance of smoke andother associated common contaminates in a post fire condition, whereelevated temperatures are or have been present.

Damper actuators can be fitted with a thermal housing to protect theiroperation from external heat sources up to 300°C for a period of 1hour, where continuous operation is required to allow for the managedsmoke clearance of larger buildings.

The SC damper can also be used in conventional ducted systemswhere manual or motorised control dampers are called for in thedesign of environmental controlled spaces for both ambient andelevated temperature conditions.

Features and Benefits• Standard blade and case construction is galvanised mild steel, with

grade 302S stainless steel side seals

• Unique one-piece double-skin interlocking airfoil blades

• Four casing options

• Linkage out of airflow

• Optional blades and case in grades 316 or 430 stainless steel

• 28 day salt corrosion tested. Chatfield report RLR3 refers
