All strips are to be cut crosswise on grain of the fabric (width of the fabric). All strips are based on 42" long strips.Carefully trim off all selvages. Please read the pattern carefully before you begin.

1 4796-11 4796-3 Cut (2) 15/8" wide strips, and cut into (36) 15/8" squares

2 4795-1 4792-21 Cut (5) 11/8" wide strips. Cut 2 of the strips into (36) 11/8" x 21/4" rectangles. Cut 3 of the strips into (36) 11/8" x 27/8" rectangles.

3 4794-2 4792-2 Cut (9) 11/8" wide strips. Cut 4 of the strips into (36) 11/8" x 41/8" rectangles. Cut 5 of the strips into 11/8" x 43/4" rectangles.

4 4796-31 4793-3 Cut (12) 11/8" wide strips. Fold strips wrong sides together and cut 36 and 36 reverse of Template A. Each cut will make one Template A and one Template A reverse.

5 4795-2 4795-3 Cut (12) 11/8" wide strips. Fold strips wrong sides together and cut 36 and 36 reverse of Template B. Each cut will make one Template B and one Template B reverse. Cut (8) 31/2" wide strips for the second border. Cut (8) 21/4" wide strips for the binding.

6 4796-1 4735-7 Cut (18) 11/8" wide strips. Fold strips wrong sides together and cut 36 and 36 reverse of Template C. Each cut will make one Template C and one Template C reverse.

7 4794-31 4795-2 Cut (4) 11/8" wide strips, and cut 2 of the strips into (36) 11/8" x 15/8" rectangles. Cut 2 of the strips into (36) 11/8" x 21/4" rectangles.

9 4793-11 4794-2 Cut (11) 13/4" wide strips, and cut 5 of the strips into (36) 13/4" x 43/4" rectangles. Cut 6 of the strips into (36) 13/4" x 6" rectangles.

10 4794-11 4794-31 Cut (14) 13/4" wide strips, and cut 6 of the strips into (36) 13/4" x 65/8" rectangles. Cut 8 of the strips into (36) 13/4" x 77/8" rectangles.

11 4795-11 4795-11 Cut (18) 13/4" wide strips, and cut 9 of the strips into (36) 13/4" x 81/2" rectangles. Cut 9 of the strips into (36) 13/4" x 93/4" rectangles.

12 4791-1 4791-3 Cut off 23/4 yards for the block corner triangles. The rest will be used for the 1st and 3rd borders.

To Construct the BlockMake a Template D from see through template plastic. Using Template D, cut 36 triangles from the 23/4 yard of border print. Place the Template as illustratedto the right.Sew a 11/8" x 15/8" rectangle of fabric 7 to the 13/4" center square of fabric 1. Rotate the fabric 1 & 7 unit 90˚ clockwise (1/4 turn) and sew a 11/8" x 23/4" fabric 7 rectangle to the top edge.

Continue turning and sewing fabric numbers in sequence to the center of the unit as illustrated above.

Make a total of 36

Sew a 43/4" fabric 12 triangle to the corner of each ofthe blocks.

Sew blocks into rows and then sew rows into quilt.

1st BorderCarefully cut (4) 2" x 75" strips where indicated below. Fold each strip in half (see cover photo for center design) dividing the border into 2 mirror-image sections. Press on fold.

2nd BorderSew (2) 31/2" wide strips of fabric 5 together end to end. Cut to measure 80" long. Fold in half and press on fold.

3rd BorderCarefully cut (4) 6" x length of fabric strips where indicated below. Fold each strip in half (see cover photo for the center of the design) dividing the border into 2 mirror-image sections.

Open the folds and sew 3 borders together, matchingfold lines.

Border UnitsMake 4

Fold the quilt in half and measure. It should measure 293/8". If your measurement is different, use your measurements for the following steps.

Fold the border unit in half on the fold line. The design motifs should be precisely matched. Measure over 293/8" from the center fold and place a dot at the point and 1/4" up from the edge of the border.

Sew miters last, carefully matching design motifs. Sew to dot (do not sew through seam allowances). See cover photo for illustration of completed borders.

Sew

Lay a ruler, with the 45˚ marking along the top of the border and the edge of the ruler through the center of the dot. Cut.

Match the center of the border to the center of your quilt. Pin the border to the quilt. Sew the border to the quilt (do not sew through the seam allowance).
