Find Your Fit: No Time to ‘Waist’

September 11, 2016On Style

Today, we’re going to talk about the fit of your clothes. One thing I have really learned lately is thatthe fit between high and lower quality clothing is a distinct difference. You shouldn’t have to tug andadjust your clothing multiple times during the day. Having a flattering fit is everything for clothingbecause it makes you feel good about yourself rather than anxious about if everything is in place.Finding your waist is the a big key to mastering fit, this can be done with the following tips andtricks.

1. FIND YOUR ANGLE

Jackets have the power to direct attention by creating angles. You can opt for cropped jackets thatstop just at your waist or you can go for long jackets that tie or fasten at the waist. This is why atrench coat is a must-have in every woman’s closet.

2. THAT’S A WRAP

One of the most universally flattering women’s clothing pieces designed by Diane von Furstenberg inthe ‘70s slides around the female body gripping in all the right places. If you are feeling extra sexy, select a style with a plunging neck or high slit.

3. BALANCE BEAM

The key to balance is to have form-fitting on one end and loose on the end. For example, boyfriendjeans can be feminine despite their association with masculinity when paired with a form-fittedbodysuit top.

4. AROUND THE BLOCK

Colorblocking allows attention to be directed towards the body parts that you are more or less proudof. No worries if you do not have a distinct hourglass figure, these panels can create one for you. Useof striping overall is a trick to definitely use to your advantage.

5. I’M WITH THE BAND

The waist is the highlight point of the female body. One way that this can be accentuated is with aband that completes a 360-degree circle around the body, this can be done with rope, tying anothershirt around or more commonly, belts. A belt allows for an interesting dynamic change in the look aswell as for the smallest point of a woman’s figure to be hugged.

When shopping, make sure to select clothes that fit you well no matter what the label marking saysbecause when you are strutting down the street no one can see what’s on the label. It’s the outsidedisplay and the attitude you wear your clothes with that counts, which stems from your comfort, confidence and feeling fabulous. With this, we have the power to find clothes that will make us feellike our absolute best selves.
