Pacific Coast Stock Exchange

• The San Francisco Stock and Bond exchange moved into this building in 1930.

• Brokers entered through a brokers-only set of bronze doors, and trading took place until 2002. The building is now Equinox, an upscale city gym.

Pacific Coast Stock Exchange

•  Its history began with the founding of the San Francisco Stock and Bond Exchange in 1882 and the Los Angeles Oil Exchange in 1889. In 1957, the two exchanges merged to create the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange, though trading floors were maintained in both cities.

• In 1983, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco relocated to larger facilities at 101 Market Street

• The old location was sold to private developers who rented out the space.
