Getting Married at Global Kingdom Ministries

Congratulation on your engagement and upcoming wedding! Global Kingdom Ministries (GKM) celebrates this momentous time in your life. May you experience God’s grace and love, both now and as a married couple.

We believe God created marriage, has a specific plan for it, and is committed to filling, with fresh life and renewed strength, each union yielded to Him. We are honoured to celebrate with you on such a significant day in your life. In order to help make your day memorable, we have outlined the following instructions in regard to having a wedding at GKM. Please consider them carefully before submitting your request form.

Booking Your WeddingPlease book your wedding date and time as far in advance as possible by submitting your request form. Dates and times for rehearsals, weddings, and receptions must first be cleared through the GKM calendar.

Refundable DepositUpon approval of your wedding date request, a $300 refundable deposit will then hold the date. The deposit should be in the form of a cheque made payable to GKM and post-dated for the day of the wedding. Please note that the couple may forfeit their deposit for the following reasons: if there is damage caused to GKM property during the rehearsal or ceremony; if the ceremony begins later than half an hour after the scheduled start time, out of consideration for GKM personnel; if you cancel within 30 days of your wedding date.

FeesThe total cost of a wedding ceremony at GKM is dependent on your needs for the day. Please check all the requirements needed on the request form section. The total cost will be discussed during your first meeting with the appropriate pastor.

The $300 deposit at the time of booking the wedding will not be applied to the total cost but is refunded the week after the wedding. All fees must be paid two weeks prior to the wedding rehearsal.

Marriage PreparationAt GKM, we believe in the value of taking time to prepare for a successful marriage. Those who invest in their relationship before the wedding will have fewer problems adjusting to the marriage relationship. Therefore, we require that those planning to be married at GKM attend the Marriage Preparation Course before they are married. The marriage preparation course is offered annually in the spring. For specific dates, please contact the church office (416-438-1601).

Pre-Marriage InterviewYou will be contacted no later than one month before the rehearsal to set up a time for your Pre-Marriage Interview. At this time, you will have the opportunity to meet with the officiating pastor to discuss the ceremony. Please come prepared with details concerning the order of the ceremony as well as any questions that you may have.

Musician/Sound & Computer TechnicianAn authorized GKM musician and technician will be provided for you. All materials to be used during the wedding must be prepared and tested at the rehearsal.

RehearsalThe wedding rehearsal typically takes place the evening before the wedding day. All members of the wedding party should be present. In order to have the rehearsal run smoothly, please be prepared with an order of service and all music that will be used. Please be on time.

DecorationsDecorating the sanctuary for the ceremony can be a nice added touch. The couple being married will be responsible for setting up and taking down the decorations. GKM will be happy to provide time for the sanctuary to be decorated the day before the wedding upon clearance with the main church calendar. Any candles used must be dripless in nature. All decorations must be temporary in nature and not fixed with tape or glue to any surface. The use of confetti, rice, bird seed, etc. is not permitted anywhere on GKM property.
