Final Story BoardThe Ghost Of Samantha – ‘Evacuate’

Intro/beginning

In this scene the artist is walking to the door as the introduction and when she reaches the door she will disappear in a quick cut transition to show lyrics and visual, ‘I’ll evacuate this house’ This location is in my garden.

My artist is wearing bright colours to stand out in this scene so that she can be scene from the darker toned front door. The shot I used was a tracking shot to show her walking but still zooming out to see the location.

The lighting used will be from the natural sunlight.

Disappear

Here is the shot from the second scene of the disappearing effect, this will be the same shot and angle from the first scene to show that the artist has disappeared. For editing I will adjust the timing to cut it short so that it fits in with the timing of the lyrics.

This shot will then fade into the third part of the first verse. To another garden shot to give the impression that she has evacuated to a different place.

Teleport

From this scene purposely shook the camera to add to the impression that she has teleported to a different location from the house to a garden scene. This was filmed as a wide shot to show surroundings, after this I zoomed in as she was walking to the camera while she was lip syncing.

Picnic

After the teleport, it will then fade/ripple into the picnic scene to like a dream/telling a story. Here it is mostly medium close ups of the artist at the picnic in natural sunlight.

The lighting will be from the sunlight so it is natural.

The props I have used are from a typical picnic such as sandwiches, bee, cakes and blankets. I wanted to use this to create the impression she is on her own, in her own world.

Stranger Running with the bee

This is the scene following from the picnic and will be edited to match the lyric ‘flying bugs do not make loyal friends’ this is a tracking shot of me running after the stranger with the bee to show that the artist only ‘friend’ left her. This was also filmed in natural light.

Barn attic/Lonely Room

This is a medium close up shot of my artist sitting in an empty room to match the lyrics to visuals. The props I used for this was a broom with a hate on the top to resemble a man she is in love with.

As this was a dull lit room I had to add in extra lighting so that the artist is clearly seen in the frame.

Close up/Dancing

This frame with be faded into while the artist is singing to resemble her dancing with the broom. For this I put the camera onto the broom to film the artist’s expression, which is shown in a spinning shot and is a close up of her face. This also needed extra lighting so that the artist is clearly seen.

Chorus Close up

After the barn scene, I will then fade and cut to a close up of the artist lip synching to the chorus of the song, this was filmed in natural light and the artist wears a statement pieces to stand out in the green/garden background.

I wanted to show the direct eye line contact as the chorus is being expressed to the audience.

Projection

I wanted to use this effect to project some of my footage behind my artists to resemble 4th verse to show that she thinks she has friends but in reality she does not.

This shot was a medium close up as I wanted to still see half of the artist, and to show the audience the projection.

The lighting was difficult to use as I wanted to show clearly the projection so the lighting I used was meant to be dark to show the reality of her thoughts.

This will be faded in from the last show of her close up.

Rigsby’s

This shot was filmed in a café in Hertford, this was to show the lyrics to visuals in the 6th verse of the song, this shot was an aerial shot to resemble her in a low angle, and her on her alone.

In this I wanted to do another stop frame, to show the cake not there and the cake there and will be a jump cut in to match the lyrics. This scene will then fade in to the second part where I zoomed out in an aerial show to show her lonely atmosphere.

Rigsby's

This is the shot that will be faded in to match the time of the lyrics ‘this loneliness in my life, is way to much to handle’ the shot was a tracking shot that I zoomed out of to see her surroundings. I also did this in level with the pervious shot. I also used extra lighting to show clearly the room, as the surroundings were a bit too dark to film in.

Close up

Here is a close of the the artist in a different location from the last frame for the chorus. In this I used a tracking shot to when she is turning around the post, to follow when she is singing to the audience.

This scene was shot in natural sunlight so I had not problems with managing light in this scene. This will be then cut and faded in to the shot.

Scrabble

This is my stop frame animation of my scrabble pieces spelling out lonely to match the lyrics to visuals. I used a light background so I can change the colorizations to a bright tone. For this I used my camera and tripod so each frame is the same size and angle

Each letter will be cut to, so that it will match to the beat in the verse. I will also need to maintain the focus so that it is clear when I am editing.

Lips

From the scrabble this will be then faded in to match the beat of the 8th verse of the song. I have a medium close up then following a close up, as I was zooming in from different angles and there fore I will jump cut from the different views.

I filmed this in a well lit room as there was no problem with the lighting, the background is white so that my artist stands out more to the audience and will be the focus of there attention.

Private bubble

This shot was filmed in the garden where I blew bubbles at my artist to match lyrics to visuals.

I used a medium close up and a aerial shot to show the bubbles that were coming towards her as she span round in the shot. The lighting was in the natural sun light.

This shot will then be faded in from the lip’s scene to show the change of locations and the change of verse.

Close up

This shot is to show the artist lip synching the 9th verse of the song to resemble her lonely atmosphere as to how she has no one around her.

I used bright colours in her choice of colour to make a statement from the greener background, this was also filmed in natural light and filmed in my garden. This will cute to the last scene where she will be filmed in a field.

End scene / Field

This is the last scene were is is a film shot to show her teleportation to a different pace and her lonely atmosphere, in order to match visual to lyrics.

For this scene I will jump cut to the different positions when she goes further away, to resemble how alone she feels. I used bright colours in her choice of outfit so she stands out when she is the most furthest away. This will then be faded into darkness.
