My Goals

Since the beginning of the semester I've made a few advances in my online presence. I have updated my website, LinkedIn profile and added pictures to Flickr. I also gained 50 Twitter followers, 3 LinkedIn connections and one recommendation. For the remainder of the semester I hope to do the following:

1. 100 connections on LinkedIn 2. 500 followers on Twitter3. 3000 fans on the UWW alumni Facebook page4. 500 blog views on Wordpress5. Tweet at least 4 times a day sharing articles that I find interesting about social media6. Blog at least once a week--now is about once a month

For my final project I will be working on the UW-Whitewater National Alumni Association Facebook page and LinkedIn group. My goal with these is to create more awareness in the alumni & student population about upcoming events and ways to get involved with the university. I'm hoping to find new ways to engage fans of the page and reach 3000 fans. I'm hoping to increase wall posts from alumni asking questions or just wanting to say hello. Lastly, I'd like to run one more contest before the end of the semester such as a photo contest or video contest.

November 22-25 we asked trivia questions about the history of UW-Whitewater. We got great feedback and will be adding trivia to our weekly posts.

WL We had a great turnout on our Facebook page during the Stagg Bowl. We had 140

likes just on the post of the final score. Our engagement of the page went up over 50% during this time.

promotion over winter break to reach our 3,000 fans.

UPS I create the information that my boss, Katie Bastien, posts to our LinkedIn group.

We have been receiving constant feedback and likes on our posts. Our members increased from 2,800 to 3, 227 members.

ES I added all my social media pages and my website to my personal Facebook page in order to

gain more traffic to them. I’ve also used the lists options to manage my friends, in particular I created a “professionals” list and tried to build up my professional connections.

ITTER I currently have 497 followers, 2,636 tweets and have been listed 26 times. Also have daily reply

feedback and interaction. I was able to reach my goal of 500 followers at one point on December 18 th. I also tweeted at least 4 times a day, or made up those numbers on days I could not tweet.

E I used Hootsuite to manage my Twitter accounts every day. It’s the most effective tool I’ve found to manage all my social media accounts.

G Just shy of 500 views on my blog. Added my Twitter feed to my blog in order to direct people to my Twitter account. I changed the design to a more simplistic and appealing layout.

E I check in everywhere I go and recently got my super mayor badge for holding 10 mayorships at once. I even recruited a few of my friends to join the network.

N This is the second new social network I joined for class. I have 62 favorites and am following 9 people. This site is one of my new favorite past times. I share links through email, Twitter and post on Facebook what I find interesting.

O This was the third new social network I joined. I am following 6 projects, 2 people and 3 causes. I use it to mainly follow the American Heart Association. In my opinion this social network is going to be a big hit in the coming year and for fundraising.

H When I search myself on Google I am all but one of the results, which is something I’ve been able to maintain for months. Very happy with this accomplishment.
