ALL ABOUT ME
INSPIRATION
CRITIQUE I
• Visual Arts
• DeGrazia Gallery In the Sun
• Memorial building/shrine
• Amazing first critique, I was so inspired and amazed by the art I saw
• This gallery was nothing that I expected a large part of it was outdoors and I have never seen anything like this before
CRITIQUE II
• Visual Arts
• The Mini Time Machine: Tucson Museum of Miniatures
• Private tour at the museum thanks to Mr. Ben’s great connections
• Have never seen anything like this
• So much history, culture, and diversity represented
• Everything was functional and would be usable to someone that small
CRITIQUE III
• UA Dance Performance
• Color Wheel
• I have been to multiple dance performances and was very impressed with this one
• Watching dance performances makes me want to be back on stage again
• This is my favorite form of art
INTEGRATED UNIT-DANCE-
• I picked dance because I wanted to share my love and joy of this topic with my children.
• Teaching children to express themselves through their bodies
• A different way to express their feelings and emotions

LESSON PLAN I DOCUMENTATION
WHAT I LEARNED
• The children really enjoyed this invitation and embraced the props to dance with
• Incorporating something more then just music and dance was extremely beneficial• The props worked in a positive way for me
• My children started to embrace the art
• Utilizing the arts in the classroom is a great way to continue learning in a different way
LESSON PLAN II
• Painting with Feet
• Art subject area
• Strand 2: Music and Creative Movement
• 1. Confidence – promotes risk-taking and builds confidence by allowing children to demonstrate self-expression in movement to music.
• Children will put paint onto their feet and move around while listening to the music.
• Paying attention to the tempo, beat, and rhythm of the music and dancing around to what they hear.
• Children will dance with paint on their feet making art based on the music they hear.

WHAT I LEARNED
• Even if the activity might be messy the children will love it
• If it doesn’t work the first time try, try, again
• Being able to modify lessons on the spot
• Working with children individually throughout a large invitation is extremely beneficial
• Don’t be afraid to do something different and maybe make a mistake in the beginning
OVERALL CHALLENGES/SUCCESSES
• Learning to adapt a lesson plan on the spot
• Not being afraid to try new creative ideas
• Incorporating standards properly and efficiently
• Time management
• Being able to teach a lesson while also highlighting the main ideas of art
• Successful messages sent to children about art
MY GROWTH
• I feel that I have grown so much throughout the semester especially while I was incorporating these art lesson plans into the preschool classroom.
• Learning from my mistakes has really helped me grow as a teacher.
• I want to build upon these ideas in the specific lesson to try and incorporate them in different settings with different ages.
• Throughout this year I have learned so much and cannot wait to see what is next for me in my teaching journey.
