Purdue University has many great things to offer. How you spend your four years of undergrad needs to be taken into serious consideration. These four years fly by and there are many things you should do before you graduate to make sure you get the full Purdue experience. Ranging from eating at the famous XXX to running through the various fountains on campus, Purdue has the various fountains on campus, Purdue has something fun to offer for everyone!

Here at Purdue you can walk in Neil Armstrongs footprints right outside of Armstrong Hall. The footprints are made from his actual moon boots and are spaced apart to im-mitate how walking on the moon would feel. Next to the footprints is a life-sized sculpture of Neil himself. Next time you are at Armstrong Hall make sure to check out the footprints.

Rubbing Abraham Lincoln’s nose for good luck happens all around the nation wherever there is a Lincoln statue. Legend says that you are supposed to rub Lincoln’s nose for good luck and many students at Purdue do this before big exams. This statue is located in the Purdue Memorial Union right in the center of campus. I have yet to try this out but i will be sure to do it before my 4 years are up!

A Touch of Luck!

The Bell Tower myth is one that many students at Purdue take very seriously. It states that if you walk under the tower, over the time capsule, you will not graduate in 4 years. If you kiss under it then walk past the stone lion fountain, you will eventually marry the person you kissed. Whether you believe the myth or not the Bell Tower is a historic landmark for Purdue University and is a sight you must see before you graduate.must see before you graduate.

Featured on Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives, XXX is a place you must eat at! I myself have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. They have both indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. When entering Purdue’s campus you can’t miss this restaurant. Their buildings black and orange color palate is sure to catch your attention. Mostly all of the meals served are named after famous people from Purdue or thos who had a special relationship people from Purdue or thos who had a special relationship with the owner.

The Sweet Shop

If you need a break from all the hustle and bustle step back into the past at Pappy’s Sweet Shop. This store serves hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, and best of all, homemade ice-cream! At affordable prices Pappy’s has been an all-time favorite for Boilermakers. Pappy’s is located in the basement of the Union so it is convenient if you need a quick lunch in-between your classes. Pappy’s famous milk shakes are a must try before you Pappy’s famous milk shakes are a must try before you graduate.

Hail Hail to old Purdue...

Purdue basketball games are a great way to show your school spirit and have a fun time with friends. Basketball games are a completely different atmosphere than foot-ball games and need to be experienced before you gradu-ate. Not to mention we have an excellent basketball team but our award winning marching band also attends the games and helps to liven up the atmosphere with the songs they play. Basketball games are usually held during weekdays which allows students to take a break from their studies and let loose for an hour or two.

Fountain Running is an age-old tradition done by students of all ages. The most common time you see kids doing fountain runs is right when they return to school, usually during BGR. Fountain running is a great way to cool off on a hot day with your friends. Purdue has two fountains that are most commonly used: the one at Beering hall and the Engineering fountain. The Beering fountain (shown in the picture) is most commonly used for this (shown in the picture) is most commonly used for this purpose. You can go alone or with a huge group of friends, either way you will sure feel refreshed after you’ve done it.

Just Splashing Around

Elliot Hall of Music hosts musicians ranging from hip hop and rap to country and everything else in-between. During my two years I have already attended several concerts at Elliot and it has been a blast every time. You are guaranteed to be standing and dancing the whole night no matter who performs. The atmosphere is filled with high energy, fun Purdue students. Concerts are a great way to take a break from your usual weekend are a great way to take a break from your usual weekend routine and do something new and fun.
