    Final Drive Cases

    Remove Final Drive Cases 4059-11

    start by:

    a) remove sprocket assemblies

    1. Drain the oil from the final drive case.

    2. Install tool (A) and the 1A7486 Nut from the final drive group on the end of the sprocket shaft asshown. The nut and tool (A) will hold the hub and final drive gears in position when the case isremoved.

    3. Remove the bolts and washers that hold the final drive case to the steering clutch case.

    4. Install three 1/2"-13 NC guide pins (1) through the final drive case and into the steering clutchcase. Install two 1/2"-13 NC forcing screws (2) in the final drive case. Tighten the screws evenly tomake a separation of the case from the steering clutch case.

    5. Pull the case out on the guide pins until tool (B) can be fastened to the case. Fasten a hoist to tool

    (B). Remove the final drive case. The weight of the case is 300 lb. (135 kg).

    1. Clean the machined surfaces of the final drive case and the steering clutch case.

    2. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket Material on the machined surfaces of the final drive case and thesteering clutch case.

    3. Install three 1/2"-13 NC guide pins (2) in the steering clutch case.

    4. Fasten tool (B) and a hoist to final drive case (1). Put the case in position on the guide pins and

    push it in as far as it will go.

    5. Remove tooling (B) from the case and push the case against the steering clutch case.

    6. Install the bolts and washers that hold the case in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 100 ±10 lb.ft. (135 ± 14 N·m).

    7. Fill the final drive case with oil to the correct level. See Lubrication and Maintenance Guide.

    a) install sprocket assemblies
