CHASE
I’m getting sick of this shit I can’t take this anymore these
damn politicians and bosses of mine. [Chase throws the glass on
the floor].
2 INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – DAY 2
[This scene introduces Russell who haunted Chase during his
childhood years. Russell was a very bad child. He loved to kick
ass. There was not a day that went by where he didn’t harass
Chase. During his early years Chase looked toward adults to help
him with his situation, but Russell was too clever. Russell
manipulated the system however, making him seem innocent. The
way in which Russell scarred Chase for life was by framing him.
One day, Russell being his devious self, pushed Chase into an
innocent young girl causing her to plunge to her death. From the
public eye it seemed as if Chase was a bad person and there was
a lot of resentment he faced growing up. On the other hand, the
mastermind Russell got away once again.]
3 EXT. PARKING GARAGE – EVENING 3
[The story transitions to a flashback of Chase’s past struggles
in the workforce]
GUARD
Sorry, you know the deal. ID mister.
CHASE
Come on fat man! Give me a break. And if I don’t, what are you
gonna do, hit me with you’re flashlight?
GUARD
I’ll give you a break alright, I’ll break my foot off in your
ass!
[Chase reaches into the glove compartment to get his ID]
CHASE
Yeah yeah.
[The guard catches a glimpse of Chase’s hand gun inside of the
glove compartment]
GUARD
Whoa whoa! What do we have here?
CHASE
SHIT! It’s not what it looks like!
GUARD
Oh yes it is!
CHASE
Listen here asshole! You didn’t see shit!
GUARD
Oh trust me I saw all I needed to see. You’re going down bitch!
CHASE
Look, you don’t understand! What can we work out to keep this
quiet?
GUARD
I do understand. You’re not supposed to have firearms on the
premises, and you’re going down! I won’t be a part of any of
your scandals you slimy fuck!
CHASE
I don’t think you get it I don’t need this in my life right now.
GUARD
Well, asshole, you’re the one with the gun aren’t you? I’m the
one with the flashlight remember?
CHASE
(Shakes his head) I know there is no way out of this. So, fuck
it.
[Chase gives the guard a furious look of rage and drives off.
Chase goes home with the intent of being laid off the next day
at work]
4 EXT. PARKING GARAGE – MORNING 4
[Chase enters the parking garage once again; same guard is on
duty]
GUARD
Good morning Chase. How’s it going?
[Chase ignores the guard’s sarcastic comment, then Chase enters
the building]
4 INT. BOSSMAN’S OFFICE – MORNING 4
BOSSMAN
Mr. Chase I need to see you in my office.
CHASE
Yes sir.
[Chase anticipates the worst]
BOSSMAN
I’m sorry Chase. We’re gonna have to lay you off.
CHASE
This is bullshit. I’ve been through a lot lately and I was only
protecting myself.
BOSSMAN
I’m sorry, but carrying a firearm on the premises is against
company policies. And you agreed to the terms when you accepted
your position here.
CHASE
It was a mistake! I felt as if my life was in danger.
BOSSMAN
I’m sorry, but under any circumstances we are to follow
procedures, and you didn’t abide by those rules.
CHASE
My life was at stake.
BOSSMAN
Well, I wish you the best in your life and circumstances. It was
a pleasure to have you, but we cannot allow this behavior.
CHASE
Yeah yeah, it’s all bullshit. [Chase leaves his former workplace
frustrated]
CHASE
One day I will blow this mother fucker up! [Chase mumbles]
[Chase heads home furiously]
5 INT. GAS STATION – NIGHT 5
[This scene shows the reasons that Chase felt his life was in
danger which caused him to bring the gun to his workplace]
[Chase pulls into the gas station and heads inside]
CHASE
Clerk, can I have $20 on (Chase turns around to check the pump
number) 8.
CLERK
Is there anything else I can help you with?
CHASE
No, you homo! Just give me the gas, ok!
CLERK
I’m sorry? Is everything ok?
[Chase blows off the clerk and heads to pump his gas. In the
midst of things, Chase identifies a familiar face; a face that
haunted him every day of his life. It was Russell]
5 EXT. GAS STATION – NIGHT 5
[Chase immediately focuses in on his phone in an attempt to
avoid this nightmare of Russell]
RUSSELL
Is it my old friend Chase? You little bitch ass mother fucker!
[Chase feels a rush of adrenaline, his palms start to sweat and
he begins to panic]
CHASE
(hoarsely) Russell, is that you?
RUSSELL
I reckon so! Dimwit! You’re still stupid after all these years?
CHASE
(hoarsely) I thought you died!
RUSSELL
What the hell did you say boy?
[Chase slowly enters his car as they converse]
CHASE
I mean, I thought you were dead.
RUSSELL
No, you son of a bitch I’m not dead, but you will be making
remarks like that!
CHASE
Calm down man, I’m sorry, I had no idea. Jeez.
[Russell approaches the convertible]
RUSSELL
I apologize for some of the things I have done to you, but you
were a fool and I should slap you right now.
[Chase then looks for a way to get out of this reoccurring
nightmare. From what Chase can recall, his hand gun is still
inside the glove compartment]
CHASE
(laughs, affrightedly)
RUSSELL
You got something on your face silly!
CHASE
I do?
RUSSELL
Yes, fool.
[Chase takes the opportunity to reach for napkins in the glove
compartment as a diversion to get inside the glove compartment
for the hand gun]
RUSSELL
Well, it was nice talking to you. Sorry about everything that
happened in the past, I hope we can move forward from this. No
hard feelings?
[Chase is surprised but still feels threatened. He realizes
another day of horror has been escaped]
[Chase returns to reality in the living room]
