This is the main film poster for Crazy Stupid Love. I particularly like how the poster has the actor’s photo at the bottom of poster so that you know who is in the film, and who the main characters are. I prefer this technique rather than having the main image as the whole of the poster. I also like the cinematography in the image as it attracts the attention of the audience to the main characters to the shot. I rather like this film poster as it shows the ‘crazy’ within the shot, which reflects on the title of the film.

I particularly like how this movie has 5 different posters as it shows all the different characters. I also like this because it shows different scenes of the film, which is a teaser to make you want it, without watching the film. The posters have a subtitle saying “This is love” “This is crazy” and “This is stupid”. I rather like this style that they have done it in as it shows the different sides of the characters and does actually show which statement is for which couples/groups of people.

The first 8 seconds consists of the trailer is TimeWarner’s logo, this is important factor to show who represents the film.

The next 15 seconds involves one of the main characters within the film having an argument with his partner. This shows the love between the couple.

The next scene involves snippets of some of the film, whilst introducing another character and showing how he acts. Which intrigues one of the main characters.

This scene also introduces another character that Ryan Gosling, one of the main characters, is fascinated with.

As well as scene 8, this shows the craziness of the two. Scenes 10 – 16 are very important as it shows the real names of the actors/actresses.

I particularly like how in scene 17, it shows the title but with different levels of boldness on the words. The word ‘love’ is significantly thicker, which shows what the film is about.

I chose Easy A’s film cover for inspiration, for my trailer. I did this becauseI think it attracts teenagers very well. I think this as the main actresses is very popular, and around the similar age as the target audience. I also like how there are arrows pointing towards the character, calling her names. AS this shows what the film is about and reflects well with the trailer. I like the fact that the actress is in character, in the poster as it shows what she will be like in the film. Also I particularly like how she holds the paper in-front of her, as it gives a clue of what the plot is.

I chose Friends With Benefits’ film cover as inspiration for my film trailer as I particularly like how minimal the colouring is. I like that the background is plain, as it makes the characters of the film look bold and crisp. I also like the lighting within the shot as it highlights the characters well. Having the male look at the female characters also makes the shot look as if he is more interested in her, rather than the other way around. Which would be clear if you watch the film/ or trailer. I particularly like the fact that the couple are making hand gestures as it reflects onto the title of the film, as well as it being a clear and simple statement.
