Zodiac, a neo-noir Mystery Thriller made by Director David Fincher, is a telling of the real life story of the Zodiac murderer in the 60s. Because of the nature of the story and the time its set, a neo-noir is the perfect way for Fincher to create this film. Fincher creates numerous ways of intensity throughout the film as he keeps viewers guessing who the Zodiac murderer is through his film language as well as story. The mise-en-scene, camera work, editing and soundtrack combine to create mystery and a noir-like film, which is why my final film noir analysis is a neo-noir, helping me link my research in to my own film, as this neo-noir gives me ideas for my own.
