Assignment 26A: Film Billing

• Juno

• Here are pictures of our Film Billing worksheets. The worksheets explain what was used and what text came first (credits/title.)

The first pictures are about how titles and credits are placed in the intro 'Juno', a comedy indie film. The text has an amateur feel to it, suggesting that it's a film for teenagers. It uses a mixture of bright colours to make it cheerful and uses Sans Serif font to let the audience know it's a film for teenagers.

Red Lights

• The second film we looked at was called Red Lights, a thriller/crime film. The film was a lot darker and serious as it revolves around crimes which suggests that the film is for adults. To emphasise this, they used black and white to make the text and images stand out from each other and the animation of text is a lot faster and makes the audience feel uneasy unlike the Juno OTS.

Conclusion• When doing this assignment, we learnt how to use colour and

font to our advantage in order to make your OTS have a great impact on your audience, whether the OTS is a comedy or a thriller.

• In the Juno OTS, it’s colourful and bright to show it’s a comedy film and Red Lights is dark and more intimidating, signifying that this film is a thriller and/or mystery film.
