SYNOPSIS OF CASE : On the 11th April 1944 aircraft B-24H # 42-52754 was on an intended · bombing mission to Bernburg, Germany. Befor.e reaching the enemy coast, pilot reported supercharger trouble by Radio. SUbje ct · aircraft left the forniation and apparently headed back towards .England. Since then nothing had been see::1 or heard of a'1.y o.f the crew members, it ~y be assumed that the entire ·crew and aircraft disappeared in the NORTH SEA and have not been .recovered.

This bureau has received certain personal property belonging to Lieutenant T, F, McNichol , which, due to a change of station, was abandoned or lost by himo This property is now in storage at this Bureau,

It is our des i re that some close relative store and keep this property for him pending his return. Re gulations require that we have some ·indication from the owner as to whom he wants his property delivered. Accordingly, if you have any letter or other written instrument indicati ng his desires along this line, I wish you would forward the same to me. I would also appreciate it if you would be so kind as to give me the following information, and any other information which you deem important:
