There is a perception that JEE preparation gets you disconnected socially. Is it so ?

Question

Himanshu Gaurav Singh AnsweredIt is not true. If you are regular in your studies, then you will find time for yourself. When you study, study with 100% dedication without wasting a single minute. You will see that you will get time to spend on your social engagements.

How should we manage our Class XII Board Exams along with the preparation of JEE ?

Question

This is more of a psychological concern of many Students. You must understand that if your fundamentals are strong and you have a firm grip on all the topics, then you can sail through any exam pattern. Another important point is to be regular at your School and make sure that you appear in all the School Exams.

Himanshu Gaurav Singh Answered

When did you start your preparation for JEE ? Tell us something about your preparation strategy.

Question

I started my preparation in Class X when I enrolled in FIITJEE’s Three Year Classroom Program. My preparation strategy was to analyse my weak areas and work upon it till the time I gained enough confidence. Practicing of questions in time bound conditions was another important aspect of my preparation which helped me to give my best on the actual JEE day. In the end I must add that I never missed my classes at FIITJEE as every class added some value.

Himanshu Gaurav Singh AnsweredWas preparing for JEE stressful ?

Question

Many Students & Parents believe that preparing for JEE is stressful. I can firmly say that at FIITJEE, it is not. Strengthening the fundamentals and enhancing the analytical ability are the key. If you follow the FIITJEE system with absolute focus & dedication then you will be devoid of any stress & anxiety.

Archit Bubna, AIR - 3 in JEE Advanced 2019

answering the queries of budding JEE Aspirants.

9

Archit, you started your preparation in Class VI itself ? What made you take this step.

Question

Archit Bubna AnsweredSee, preparation for JEE does not start from class VI but yes, it will help you at a later stage to step into the world of JEE preparation with lot more confidence & zeal. In my early years at FIITJEE, I got success in various milestone exams like Junior Science Olympiad & RMO. I can confidently say that my early years at FIITJEE developed my logical thinking and enhanced my IQ & analytical ability. All this has made a substantial contribution in my eventual success in JEE Advanced 2019.

Should one study equally for all the three subjects Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or focusing on only two subjects will be sufficient ?

Question

Studying two subjects and leaving out the third one can drastically bring your rank down by a huge margin and can take you away from your dream Institute and branch. The key to my success is that I divided my study schedule accordingly wherein I devoted almost equal amount of time to all the three subjects.

Archit Bubna Answered

How did you manage to be consistent & motivated in your long journey of JEE preparation ?

Question

I always dreamt of studying at an IIT and my passion to give my best has kept me motivated all through these years. However, there were days when I didn’t feel like studying and it was hard to maintain the momentum. On those days, I used to take some break and rejuvenated myself by indulging in a sport, or any extracurricular activity.

Archit Bubna Answered

Now that JEE Main is being conducted twice, what do you suggest, whether we should appear in the first attempt, or the second or both.

Question

I recommend you to give both the attempts. Through the first attempt, you will get to know your weakness & loopholes in your preparation. Overcome all the shortcomings and then appear for the second attempt with more confidence & assurance of getting a big score.

Manan, how helpful was FIITJEE’s All India Test Series in preparing you for the JEE Main & Advanced. Is it a must appear in ?

Question

From time to time, through FIITJEE’s All India Test Series, I got to know the gaps in my preparation and about the points which required my attention. Moreover, I also got to know my standing at National Level which certainly egged me to perform better and beat the competition. The best part is, it gave me a simulated test environment like JEE Main & JEE Advanced Exam thus enabling me to be much more confident on the day of the actual CBT exam of JEE Main & JEE Advanced.

Manan Aggarwal Answered

Manan Aggarwal, AIR - 14 in JEE Advanced 2019

answering the queries of budding JEE Aspirants.

19

Few Students find FIITJEE’s All India Test Series tough ? What do you have to say on this ?

Question

Manan Aggarwal AnsweredAttempting FIITJEE’s AITS is like attempting JEE Advanced. I realized this when I appeared in JEE Advanced. The questions asked in AITS are designed closely on the lines of JEE. So, when I appeared in JEE Advanced, it was just like appearing in one of the All India Test Series Tests. It is like preparing for Olympics. If you are preparing for Olympics and dream to succeed in it, then the level of your preparation, practice & planning has to be at the desired level. You have to keep raising the bar of your performance and you can only achieve that by regular practice. Similarly, by regularly appearing in the AITS you keep on striving to set new benchmarks of performance and aim to keep surpassing those. The ultimate objective of these Tests is to help JEE aspirants retrospect their performance through continuous Tests and make up for the shortcomings.

Manan, what are the common mistakes Students make while preparing for JEE ?

Question

Well, what I have observed is that many Students approach their Teacher for doubt removal without putting sufficient self effort in solving a problem. Only after you have exhausted with your attempts in solving the problem, you should approach your Teacher. This way your doubts get removed totally and you understand the concepts very well. In future you would be able to apply the concept effortlessly in solving any problem. Another example, which can be stated as a mistake is the frequent use of calculators. IIT-JEE does not allow the use of calculators. I advise you that you should shun this habit and should aim to do the calculation by yourself only as it will help you to develop speed required in JEE Exam and would boost your confidence.

Manan Aggarwal Answered

Is it important to appear in exams like NTSE, KVPY & Olympiads ?

Question

Indeed, it is extremely important to appear in these National / International Level Exams and do well. By appearing in these milestone exams you can benchmark your performance among the Top Students of the Country and get to know your standing. These are stepping stones in your journey to become an IITian.

Manan Aggarwal Answered

Does increasing the number of study hours in a day enhance my chances of qualifying JEE ?

Question

It is the quality and not the quantity of study time that matters. Solving good quality questions tests your fundamentals and makes your preparation much stronger than solving large number of easier questions. Whenever you study, study sincerely, dedicatedly & with zero distraction.

Manan Aggarwal Answered

START EARLY BEAT THE COMPETIT

Serious Students aspiring for success with a good Rank in JEE Advanced /

JEE Main / other Competitive Entrance Exams understand the importance

of starting early in their preparation for IIT-JEE. As these exams have become

more competitive now, it is necessary to build a strong foundation, as early

as possible. FIITJEE’s early edge programs are designed to give dedicated

Students that extra advantage that can help them secure a Top Rank in JEE

Advanced / JEE Main / Other Competitive Entrance Exams.

FIITJEE Programs are conceptualised in a way to

give Students, an edge over their peers in various

Scholastic / Competitive Exams in the following ways

Students will get more time to adapt to the quantum jump in the level of

difficulty with more ease as there will be enough time for understanding and

consolidation over a longer spread out academic plan.

Students would get the opportunity to ensure Optimum utilization of available

time.

Early starters will always have more time before the actual Board & other

Competitive Entrance Exams as their course curriculum will finish much

before the batches starting later, thus giving them maximum lead over

others before the target exam.

Students will have the opportunity to focus on consolidation of their

performance and self-revision, honing of examination temperament &

removal of last moment doubts. This is vital in achieving a quantum jump in

Rank in JEE Advanced / JEE Main / other Competitive / Scholastic Entrance

Exams.

What is that one quality that every JEE aspirant must possess or at least strive to develop over a period of time ?

Question

Not one, rather I suggest two. One, that you take preparation of JEE as a joyful journey, and two, you should inculcate a Never Give Up Attitude.

25

Is FIITJEE’s study material sufficient to prepare for both JEE Main & JEE Advanced ?

Question

E. Shreepranav Varma AnsweredFollowing single learning system has been the key to my success. FIITJEE study material is much more than self-sufficient. I will not advise you to consider different study materials for your JEE preparation as the bundle of study materials only leads to confusion and loss of time.

What should be done to utilize the time available after the JEE Main exam is over ?

Question

Let me tell you what I did. I was preparing simultaneously for both JEE Main & JEE Advanced as both are concept based exams. After JEE Main, I practiced with more mock papers of JEE Advanced in that period and quickly brushed through my notes which helped me to achieve the success in JEE Advanced.

E. Shreepranav Varma Answered

We have heard that revision is very important especially that of Class XI syllabus. When should we ideally complete the syllabus and start the revision ? What should be the revision strategy / important things to be kept in mind ?

Question

Revision stage is an important stage of your JEE preparation where you overcome your shortcomings. Your study notes will be of a great help. During revision, do not try to touch new concepts, rather attempt the mock JEE papers as many as possible.

E. Shreepranav Varma Answered

Is there anything else that you would like to share / suggest ?

Question

I would like to give a message to the Parents of budding JEE aspirants. There might be instances where your child might not meet your expectations or may perform poorly in few tests. In those situations, you should not reprimand your child as this will further demotivate & dishearten him / her and will put unnecessary pressure. A parent should always motivate & guide their wards to be strong in all the situations of life.

Enabling Students to Excel at the World’s Best Universities

USA UnivQuest was promoted by FIITJEE with

the vision of nurturing future global leaders.

USA UnivQuest’s goal is to provide access to

excellent undergraduate education at the

world’s best universities.

USA UnivQuest would enable a stimulating

culture of innovation and creativity. This culture

can be created if our millennial children

are introduced to an education system that

encourages critical thinking and problem

solving. Keeping this in mind, USA UnivQuest

programs have blended best practices of the

Indian education systems with International

school curricula.

The guiding principle of USA UnivQuest is :

“Preparing Students for Success in a Rapidly

Changing World”. USA UnivQuest is the perfect

launchpad for a global career.

About USA UnivQuest

USA UnivQuest Promise

Getting admitted to top ranked universities is

achievable. USA UnivQuest will help you dream

big, and aid you in realizing those dreams.

In addition to Test Scores, Academic Transcripts, Extra Curricular Activities, Letters Of Recommendation (LOR), Resume and

Statements of Purpose (SOP) are also considered during admissions.

In India, academic and admission test scores are the only two important factors for admission to top colleges. However, in the

USA, overall student profile matters and most top ranked colleges have a “holistic” admission process that lays importance on

the student as an individual.

What takes you to one of The World’s Best Universities ?

Advanced Placement (AP) The Advanced Placement Program (AP in short) is administered by the College Board, more famous for

conducting the SAT Test. AP courses offer rigorous college-level curricula and assessments to students in high

school. Students can choose from 38 courses and exams in 19 subject areas, including English, Math, History,

Science, Foreign Language, Computer Science, and others.

The successful completion of Advanced Placement classes has benefits during both the

college application process and college life. Given below are five of the biggest perks of

the AP Program.

Increase College Admission Chances : Good scores in AP improves your chances of

admission in the elite universities. According to NACAC, grades in college level courses

are an important indicator for admission in 93.4% of colleges.

Win Scholarships : College Board says 31 percent of colleges consider AP when

determining scholarships.

Save Money : Decent AP scores (3-5) may make a student eligible to receive college

credit for the course. This could potentially allow them to graduate early (and that will

save money). You could also add at least 1 year to your work-life and an opportunity to

earn an extra Rs 6 cr.

Ensure College Success : A University of Texas study of 24,941 students said those who

used their AP credits to take more advanced courses in college had better grades in

those courses than similar students who first took college introductory courses instead

of AP. AP courses require high-level calculating and critical thinking skills, similar to that

of the first year of college. Through AP courses it is easier to master many of the skills

that will lead to success in college.

Choose a Major Sooner : AP classes are helpful in selecting your college major. First, each

AP course provides an in-depth introduction to a specific subject area. Second, a high

score on an AP exam often fulfils one of a college’s general education requirements. This

means you’ll have more room in your schedule to explore different academic fields early

in your undergraduate career.

5 Reasons TO Consider The AP Program

AP Scholar with DistinctionGranted to Students who score at least 3 on five or more AP Exams, and, have an overall average score of at least 3.5

FIITJEE is the only institution in India to offer more than 10 Advanced Placement courses

APs are a great way to save money, even without scholarships

SAT subject TestSAT Subject Tests probe students on their knowledge of

subjects at the USA high school level. Therefore, for Indian

students, the additional benefit of a SAT Subject Test score is

that it provides a benchmark of their academic level which

the admission committee in the USA is familiar with. At USA

UnivQuest, we recommend that students appear in at least

2 SAT Subject Tests.

SATThe SAT is one of the two standardized college

admission tests in the USA (the other is ACT). There are

two SAT sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading

and Writing, plus an optional Essay. The maximum

and minimum scaled score for the New SAT is 1600

and 400 respectively. The Essay results are reported

separately.
