ALLITERATION An alliteration is a type of figurative language used when authors write phrases and sentences that begin with the same letter sounds. This type of figurative language is often used in poetry and can be pleasing to the reader The words in the phrase/sentence must mostly begin with the same SOUND, not necessarily the same letter Examples: Gary guzzled his Gatorade as he galloped towards the gaping finish line. Timmy taught his sister Tina to tap dance on Tuesday. The wind whistled wildly as the war was won.
