CANADA SUMMER JOBS
The federal government has introduced new requirements for
employers applying for the Canada Summer Jobs grant. To be
eligible for funding, employers must attest that both the job and
the organization’s core mandate respect certain “values” as
determined by the federal government including the government’s
position on abortion, sexual orientation and gender identity or
expression. Organizations unable or unwilling to make this
attestation in whole or in part will be deemed ineligible for the
grant. This requirement is clearly unjust.
Many Catholic organizations throughout the Archdiocese of
Toronto and many other faiths involved in charitable activity at
soup kitchens, shelters, refugee welcome centres or summer
camps are impacted by this decision. Please take a moment to
visit www.archtoronto.org/summerjobs for more information and
to find a template letter to send to your MP and the Minister
responsible for this portfolio.

SENIOR’S LUNCH
The Faith Explained Pilgrimage to the Holy Land will take
place from November 23—December 3, 2018. It will be led
by Father Ryan Alemao, who grew up here at St Francis deSales
parish, and Cale Clarke, Director of The Faith Explained
Seminars.
Every Catholic, if possible, should visit the Holy Land at least
once in their lifetime. Saint Jerome once called the Holy Land
the "Fifth Gospel". Why? Because, when you walk where Jesus
walked, and experience the places where he lived, taught, worked
miracles, and rose from the dead, the Bible comes alive in
amazing ways! Israel is a gorgeous, utterly modern country that
you will fall in love with immediately. But most of all, you'll fall
more in love with Jesus and your Catholic faith in a much,
much deeper way. Your relationship with the Lord will never be
the same. We will be having an information session
on Tuesday, 10 April at 7:30 PM in the North Room at St

Our Annual Lenten Confession night will be on Tuesday 20
March at 7 p.m. There will be many priests available for
confession. Please take advantage at this time, as it will be the last
major opportunity before the celebration of Easter.

CHRISM MASS Please note on Tuesday March 27th our morning Mass will be
celebrated at 8am. The Chrism Mass will be held at St. Michael’s
Cathedral, in Toronto at 11 am.

Chaplet Prayer to St. Joseph
OPENING PRAYER
Using the Rosary, pray the Apostles’ Creed, one Our
Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be.
ON THE BEADS OF THE ROSARY
On the large bead before each decade pray:
St. Joseph, foster father of Our Lord Jesus Christ and
chaste spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, pray for us.
On the small beads of the first decade pray:
St. Joseph, patron saint of workers, guide us in all we do.
On the small beads of the second decade pray:
St. Joseph, protector of the Holy Family, protect us.

Pray this chaplet often, especially on Wednesdays and
March 19, Solemnity of St. Joseph; May 1, Feast of Joseph
the Worker; Labor Day; Feast of the Holy Family.
First Communion Classes will resume on March 24th.
Confirmation Sponsors are invited to attend the last Confirmation class on
April 8th or 9th with the Confirmandis. If you have not
handed in your Letter of Intent or Sponsor’s paperwork, it is
now overdue. Please drop off any outstanding paperwork
