Welcome and Introduction
KMS currently serves approximately 900 students and we will likely
meet or exceed that for next year. Our building staff consists of over
100 people including:

• School Counselors
• Special Education Staff (teachers & aides)
• Secretaries
• Custodians
• And other Support Staff
o All of these professionals serve your children with great pride and
dedication (as part of the KMS Learning Community).

Elementary: Self contained and teacher-directed learning
experiences.
Middle School: Changing classes based on subject matter and shift
toward student driven learning experiences and responsibilities.
It is important to understand that we are here to guide this transition
(gradual rather than an abrupt) so that each child can experience
individualized growth. The “House” concept is geared toward this
transition.

1) General Music (All Year, Every Other Day)
2) Chorus (All Year, Every Other Day)
3) Band (All Year, Every Other Day)
B) Remainder of Coordinated Arts block consists of:
•Phy. Ed. (All Year, Every Other Day)
•Tech. Ed. (Sem, Every other Day)

•Computer App’s (Sem, Every other Day)
Note: We do offer some additional classes (i.e. RtI opportunities) which may impact the above classes. This is
done on a as needed basis, and with parent support.

You Need to:

Call the Attendance Number 253-3450 (press # 1)
Unreported Absences could be marked Unexcused!
Only Make Homework Requests for Extended
Absences (more than a few days)
HW can also be found on the KMS Website
Upon return from the absence have your child see
their teachers to check on missing work (or turn
in if completed).
