Java + Bali(In conjunction with the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia)

We have a very exciting programme visiting coffee plantations and processing plants in East Java and Bali. Group members will arrange their own flights to arrive in Surabaya for evening meal on Thursday 13th July and to return from Denpasar (Bali) on or after Friday 21st July. If you want to stay longer at the hotel this can be arranged at your cost.

The proposed programme:

• Thursday, July 13, 2017: Arrive in Surabaya. Evening meal. Stay overnight at Best

Western Papilio Hotel.

• Friday, July 14, 2017: 8:00 am – leave hotel to PT. Indokom Citra Persada Warehouse

(Exporter) & Cupping. 2:00 am-06:00pm – Leaving Surabaya to Ljen Area -

Estate Coffee Plantation. Stay overnight at Estate Guest House.

• Saturday, July 15, 2017: Visit Estate Coffee and Farmers Coffee Processing. Stay

overnight at Ljen Hotel, Bondowoso.

• Sunday, July 16, 2017: Morning - Visit to ICCRI (Indonesia Coffee And Cacao

Research Institute, Jember - East Java). Afternoon – Leave ICCRI to Bromo Highland

(Cemara Lava View Hotel-Resort, Bromo Highland).

• Monday, July 17, 2017: Early Morning climb to Bromo Crater, seeing sun-rise

(by 4x4 car). Afternoon – leave Bromo Area to Surabaya to catch evening

flight to Bali. Stay at Sudamala or Kamuela Hotel-Villa, Sanur Area until Friday, July

21st, 2017.

• Tuesday, July 18, 2017: Visit Bali Coffee Plantations & Processing Area 1.

• Wednesday, July 19, 2017: Visit Bali Coffee Plantations & Processing Area 2 Plus

Bali Highland, Views & Culture.

• Thursday, July 20, 2017: Visit to roasters and coffee industry around Bali plus

Fire Dance.

• Friday, July 21, 2017: Free Program. Fly Home and/or extended days for anybody

who wants to.

The cost of the trip is 1500 euros – this includes all board & lodging and travel for the complete 8 days, but does not include drinks or tips. If you wish to come please email colin.smith@smithscoffee.co.uk and be prepared to pay a non-returnable deposit to SCA of 500 euros by 14th April. As this is the holiday season (also the coffee picking season!) we have to book our hotels early. Do not miss this opportunity to visit this wonderful part of the world!
