What is a Field Marshal?• Is the CESA representative @ each
field– Club’s contact for visiting teams & fans
• Is the connection between the fields & Site Director– CESA’s ‘Eyes & Ears’ at the fields– Provides status on how things are going
• Helps the Tournament Run Smoothly– Help start games ‘On-Time’– Provides timely game results
Starting Your Day
• Wear your Field Marshall Shirt• Arrive on Time!
– Arrive 30 minutes before your first scheduled game
• Check in with your Site Director• Pick up your Game Cards
– Site Director will have Game Cards– Make sure you have the CORRECT cards
Game Card
Starting a Game
• Introduce yourself to referees and coaches
• Give Game Card to referee prior to a game
• Check Player Cards as early as possible
• Hold Player Cards during the game• Provide the game ball to referee
During the Game• Tell referee where you will be
located• Pick a visible spot so coaches,
refs & fans can see you– Between benches is a good spot– ‘Lost Ball’ danger areas are good
too
• Interact with fans– Be pleasant and friendly– Listen to comments
Game Balls• Home team supplies the
Game Ball• Balls may get lost in
woods– Some fields are more
prone to loosing, especially Brushy Creek
• If ball is lost ask the home team to supply another
After the Game
• Read the final score back to ref and both coaches
• Take the WHITE COPY of the completed, signed Game Card from the referee
• Return Player Cards to Teams• Return the WHITE COPY of
Game Card to Site Director after each game– Do not hold onto prior Game
Cards
Red Cards• Escort the player / coach
immediately from the field• Deliver Player Card to the
Site Director• Make sure player / coach
knows where they can pick-up their Player Card before they leave the site
Injuries• Medical facilities are at all
venues• Make sure significant
injuries are listed on Game Cards (name, age, team, injury type, treatment and disposition)
• Site Director will complete Incident Report
Day’s Last Field Marshal
• Pass game gear to Site Director – do not leave items sitting at the field overnight
• If you see any trash – pick it up
• Ask Site Director if any help is needed before leaving
General Information
• Direct all Rule / Scoring questions to the Site Director
• Official Scores are posted on CESA website. Scoreboards are kept @ MESA & Wenwood
• Water & lunches provided for all refs– Make sure refs know when lunch is
delivered
Finals & Awards
• Award Ceremonies immediately follow the Finals game @ the field-of-play

2. Field Marshalls … wear their Field Marshall Shirt pick-up Game Cards & give to the ref check Player Cards provide the ref the Game Ball hold Player Cards during the game all of the above
3. Field Marshalls do NOT … arrive to the field late act unpleasant and nasty forget to return Player Cards to the teams Forget to return Game Cards to Site Director
