that focuses on integrated rainwater management strategies, technologies, institutions and

policies. S/he will work in an inter-disciplinary team that will consider the impact of rainwater management technologies and strategies on catchment hydrology - the downstream

and groundwater impacts as well as evaporation and transpiration at different locations

within the Nile Basin, with the ultimate aim of evaluating water allocation and water

    productivity implications.

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is a non-profit, scientific

organization engaged in research and capacity building activities for developingcountries. Our mission is to overcome poverty through the better management of land

and water resources. Working with diverse partners and supported by the Consultative

Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), IWMI seeks to translate itsresearch findings into actionable recommendations for policymakers, resource managers

and poor rural communities. IWMI is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka and has regional

offices located in 12 countries in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

    Location:

The position will be based in IWMI East Africa and Nile Basin Office in Addis Ababa,

Ethiopia and reports to the Senior Researcher Hydrology and Water Resources.

    Job Purpose:

This position will coordinate and implement hydrological field studies conducted to

obtain primary data relating to the impacts of different rainwater management

technologies on hydrological fluxes and water productivity at different locations in theNile Basin.
