    1. The holder checks to see if the team is ready (be sure eleven men are on the field), then he checks withthe kicker.2. If the holder feels everything is proper, he calls "set" and the ball can be snapped anytime after (onesecond pause).3. Be alert for the audible at the line of scrimmage. Color call precedes "set. "

    D. ASSIGNMENTS1. Center - snaps the ball after holder "sets" team (one second pause). Hit holder's hand every time. Afterthe snap, set solidly on the line and hold ground. You must bridge up. Do not be pulled or fire out. Thiswill create a lane for block. NOTE: Do not create head rhythm.2. Guards - Stance: a. Three pointb. Inside foot backTake a drop step with your inside foot, behind the center's leg.3. Tackles - Stance: a. Three pointb. Protect inside first but fill as much space as possiblewith ricochet block. Jab inside with hands then back. Do not be faked outside to permit a rusher to goinside. Force outside rush. Keep formation as wide as possible. Sprint to cover on field goal after ball iskicked.6. Holder - you are as responsible for a successful kick as the kicker. When receiving the ball, place itquickly and precisely on the spot, laces away from the kicker. Your responsibilities are:

    7. Kicker--concentrate on spot. Let the holder know when you are ready. On a field goal, you are the safetyon the left.D. REMINDERS

    1. Total time for snap and kick is 1.3 seconds.2. On a field goal, we must work quickly as the clock is usually running.3. Coverage on field goals is imperative {treated like a punt}.4. Be alert for "fire" call.5. Down all missed field goals.6. Be alert for audible.7. During the last two minutes of the second and fourth quarters, be alert on the sideline and near the Head .-Coach where you can get into the game quickly.8. Players wearing inappropriate numbers must report to the official.9. You cannot cover field goals until the ball is kicked except for the end man on the line of scrimmage.

    RULES PERTAINING TO MISSED FIELD GOAL ATTEMPTSA. The ball reverts to the line of scrimmage if:

    1. The ball rolls dead untouched in the field of play.2. The ball rolls out of bounds untouched.3. The ball rolls dead in the end zone.4. The ball goes through and out of the end zone.5. The ball touches in the end zone, rebounds in the field of play, and is ruled dead.6. The ball is caught in the end zone and the receiver runs but does not get out of the end zone.7. The ball is touched in the field of play by the kicking team.8. The ball is downed in the field of play by the kicking team.9. The ball hits the goal post.

    B. The ball does not revert to the line of scrimmage if:1. The ball is caught or picked up and run within the field of play.2. The kick is blocked and does not go beyond the line of scrimmage.3. The ball is muffed and recovered by the receiving team.4. The ball is downed in the field of play by the receiving team.5. The ball is touched in the field of play by the receiving team and the ball then goes out of bounds.6. The ball is fair caught by the receiving team.7. Attempt is made inside the twenty yard line.8. The ball is touched in the field of play by the receiving team and goes into the end zone where it is laterruled dead. (Play results in a touchback being declared.)

    EXTRA POINT - FIELD GOAL IIFIREINTERIOR LINE - Be alert for "FIRE" call. Do not go downfield as the holder or the kicker may pass the ball.a:ms - Go first down distance and hook in or out depending on coverage. If the passer is scrambling, go to the openarea and wave your arms.WING BACKS - Go into flat quickly at five yard depth and look for the ball. If the passer is scrambling, go to openarea and wave your arms.
