• FMD vaccination and public awareness campaign: 100,000 doses, O Manisa in NPT

• Epidemiology study: 8 Townships and 2 dairy farms in Nay Pyi Taw, NSP testing

• Post Vaccination Monitoring : 50 samples (LPBELISA)

(Pre and post serum of vaccination from 2 dairy farms were tested by NSP and LP ELISA)

FMD Status in Myanmar

Serotype O• FMD is endemic in Myanmar and has been recorded in all States and

Regions of the country. • The outbreaks are mainly caused by Serotype O.

Serotype Asia 1• Found in Kayah State and Magway Region in 2005

Serotype A• Found in Tanintharyi Region and Rakhine in 1999 and 2010 respectively • The isolated virus was related to type ‘A’ outbreaks previously seen in

the South Asian subcontinent.
