Director’s Note “As the good book says…” Wise School’s production of Fiddler on the Roof is all about being creative and making great happen.
During the past four months, our young thespians have d isplayed their artistic talents, acting, dancing, and singing in the classic story by Shalom Alecheim, Fiddler on the Roof. Quite frankly it takes a real village to recreate the fictional village of Anatevka for our Wise School Musical Production. Just like the fictional bride and groom w e have had many blessings on our heads, namely the wonderful and wondrous Julie Frankel-Koch who is a wealth of creativity and extraord inary expertise. Her hand can be seen in the finely tuned structure of the stage crew to coaching actors. There may be a fidd ler on the roof, but there is a talented musical maven on the side tickling the ivories, Mrs. Faye Jeser. Her encouragement, friendly banter , and joyous style insp ire our students to reach notes that they never thought possible. Mrs. Randy Weinstein is the instructor behind the Wise School children’s choir and dancers. Her musicianship and dedication have lifted our performance up to the rooftops. Behind the stage, magic takes p lace under the supervision of Miss Sarah Shpall, who skillfu lly mans stage right. Microphone excellence is juggled by Mrs. Amy Burch, Ms. Rachel Mitzman, and Miss Cynthia Rahm. Ray Austad and Thienan Nguyen have mastered sound and lighting so that every actor is hear d and seen in the best possible way. Shirley Wargon not only lights up our sets, she lights up our lives. Our gratitude is shared with our box office manager and ticket guru, Ms. Judy Hoffman. These beautiful printed programs would not have been possible without the untiring efforts of Cecilia Nguyen. And of course, every village has a leader. None of this could have been done without the support of our principal and our Head of School, Mrs. Tami Weiser and Rabbi Yoshi Zweiback. It goes without saying that my family is the reason I am here. Thank you , Austin, Ali, Cady, and David . The more time I’ve spent in Anatevka, the more I’ve come to think of Wise School - our parents, our teachers, our families – as a little village - where everyone matters, even the fidd ler on the roof, and most importantly of all: TRADITION!
With love and appreciat ion, Mary It ri

Meet the Cast and Crew
Hi, my name is Noa Avidor, and I am a fourth grader in the play for the first time. This year we are doing a play called Fiddler on the Roof, and I am going to tell you about my experience. Being in the play makes me feel happy and excited about going to school. Everyone in the play, including me, gets to laugh, sing, and dance with each other. For example, when we get to sing “Tradition” or “To Life,” I feel really happy. When we sing, we get into our characters’ families, which have papas, mamas, daughters, and sons. My character is a daughter and I only have a mama and a brother, but no papa. At first I was shy, and now I have learned to be more confident. I am more comfortable being on stage than I was before. I have also learned to project my voice by learning to stand straight and tall and to speak loudly, so that the audience will hear me. In closing, the play experience has been fabulous! Going to play practice has been hard work, but a lot of fun. This play experience has inspired me! I do hope you like the show.
Noa Avidor ~ Devorah, a Villager
In this play of Fiddler on the Roof I play the role of Perchik, a teacher and a visitor in Anatevka, Russia. I marry the middle daughter of Tevye’s three oldest daughters. As Perchik, I bring new ideas to Anatevka. This is my first time in any play and it has been amazing. I have met so many people and have made a lot of new friends. I would like to thank Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Jeser, and Ms. Weinstein. These people have helped me through this amazing journey. The show will also be amazing. I hope you enjoy!
Jack Behar ~ Perchik, the Teacher
My name is Ethan Banafsheha, I am in the sixth grade and I am lucky enough to be playing two roles in this year’s play. I am playing the Fiddler, the fun musical fiddle player who is up on the rooftop, and also Sasha, the Russian who loves to sing, and is a friend of Fyedka. This play has been such a mind-blowing experience for me, filled with music, dance, and, of course, tradition. From raising toasts to standing on my rooftop, every second has been thrilling for me, being a part of this play. One of the main reasons this play has been so amazing is because of the people involved. With Mrs. Itri, Miss Shpall, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, and Mrs. Jeser helping us, this experience has been great. I really look forward to performing in front of a whole crowd, and I am so close to the first performance! In just about six weeks is the actual performance, and I really just cannot wait. Here I come, Fiddler on the Roof!
Ethan Banafsheha ~ Sasha, Fiddler on the Roof, Russian Dancer, Bottle Dancer

Being in the play has been one of the best experiences that I have ever had! I love being able to sing while acting. I am so happy to be around such nice, intelligent teachers and students, who teach me how to act and sing better. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have gotten the part that I wanted to be in the play. I play a Russian that marries Chava, one of Tevye’s daughters. I also sing a solo at the inn. I love being able to sing the song that I sing because it goes perfectly with my low voice and lets me sing freely. I just can’t wait until the show so that I can sing my songs and act in front of everyone. I am so happy that I chose to do the play.
Elijah Dardashty – Fyedka, the Russian
Hi everyone, my name is Joshua Ehrlich, and I am the beloved Rabbi, a Russian dancer, and a bottle dancer. Last year, I was in Odyssey, but this year I am so happy to be in the play. After we got the script, I knew that the Rabbi was a good role. Since I love to sing, act, and dance, my parts in Fiddler on the Roof were perfect for me. In “Tradition,” don’t be surprised to see a son with a beard. That’s me!! The rabbi even has a few “mini-solos” including the Mazel Tovs in the Dream scene. The Russian dance is really hard; so don’t try to do it if your legs are not that flexible. Fiddler on the Roof has some surprises, so it’s fine if you laugh in enjoyment or gasp in fear. In the bottle dance, the bottles aren’t really being balanced, but I won’t tell you how they are balanced. Just like a magician, an actor never reveals his secrets. I would like to personally thank Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Jeser, Ms. Weinstein, and Miss Shpall for guiding me on this journey. “Rabbi, Mordechai, and Tevye, ready to start the show!” Oops, guess the play came sooner than I thought. Enjoy!!!!
Joshua Ehrlich – Beloved Rabbi, Russian Dancer, and Bottle Dancer
Hi! I’m Ariel (AKA Liba) and I’m here to tell you why I joined the spring musical. I love to act, sing, and have fun so I marched down to Anatevka where all the fun began. First, all you have to do is sign in, eat a snack, get into a seat and get ready for the life of show business to sit right down next to you. We get to dance, sing, act, and talk backstage (don’t worry, Mrs. Itri, we were quiet). Best of all we get to be with our friends. If you like the spotlight, this is the best experience! I just have to say that Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Miss Shpall, Mrs. Jeser, and last but not least, Ms. Weinstein all make it work. This is a great experience even when you’re not on stage, because you can always have fun, finish homework, and play with your friends. I have to say this is one of the best miracles of all miracles, besides Tzeitel’s wedding, of course. For some people it is a tradition to be in the play every year, including the choir of the younger grades. This is one of the best experiences and I would love to stay and chat but…oh there’s my cue, got to go.
Ariel Emrani ~ Liba, fifth of Tevye’s daughters
Lights, camera, action! When I found out I was chosen by Mrs. Itri for stage crew, I was so happy because I always wanted to be involved with the play in any way possible. I can’t
10
wait to see what the stage crew and I, Liana Faridnia, will accomplish. The best part of stage crew is teamwork and the possibility of working with Mrs. Itri will never come back again. In fifth grade, when I was watching the play, I looked at the stage crew and wished that one day I would be able to do that. But now I don’t have to wish, because I am ready to get to work and see all the progress during the play. This year is going to be the best year ever with everyone. I want to say a special “Thank you” to Mrs. Itri for the amazing effort and work she puts into the play. See you on stage!
Liana Faridnia ~ Stage Crew
I am Maya Foonberg and I play the villager – Bracha. It is a lot of fun to watch the other people rehearsing while I have free time to do homework. Last year when I was in third grade, I was invited to be in the play with the Children’s Choir. I participated in two scenes and I loved it! This year I tried out for the play. I didn’t get the part I wanted, but I realized that it was better to be a villager, because I could hang out with my friends more often. This whole experience was a long and amazing ride. I’ll see you in the audience in our little village of Anatevka. Always follow Tradition!
Maya Foonberg ~ Bracha, a Villager
My name is Ava Fox, and I am so excited to be in front of you today. In this musical, Fiddler on the Roof, I play Penina the beggar, a Russian dancer, and a bottle dancer. Every year I love doing the play. One reason the play is fun for me is that I am doing it with my friends. No matter what…they’re always there to do a little dance. The reason this musical is going to be a big hit is because we have an amazing team helping us do our thing. Ms. Weinstein is the choir director, Mrs. Jeser is the amazing piano player, Mrs. Frankel-Koch is the best assistant director, and most important…Mrs. Itri is the most amazing director in the whole entire world of directors. It doesn’t matter if you get a small part or a big part, it just matters how much fun YOU had. Well, I could keep chatting with you if I could but…Lights, Curtain…Oops, I got to go!
Ava Fox ~ Penina the Beggar, Bottle Dancer, Russian Dancer
Hi everyone! I am Alexis Frohlich, scary ghost, and beautiful mom, and I am happy to be a part of Fiddler on the Roof. This production is amazing, brilliant, and spiritual at the exact same time. It took lot of hard work and tiring dances, but it was all worth it. I know you are wondering why it was worth it. It was worth it because it got where I am today, acting and singing my heart away. Last year, I played a mersister named Allana in the thrilling musical, The Little Mermaid. I have made a big accomplishment; I went from opera mermaid to a spine-chilling ghost. At first, I thought I wouldn’t get this part that I tried out for because Mrs. Jeser made a joke, “You are good, but Fruma Sarah doesn’t have braces and doesn’t
11
smile as much as you do.” I soon realized that it was a joke and knew that I had a big chance of getting a role as wonderful as Fruma Sarah. My mom played Fruma Sarah when she was in high school. I may not be as good as she is, but I will do my best. My mom, dad, grandparents, uncles, and aunts encourage and teach me that trying hard will help me accomplish anything. That is what helped me get as far as the real show. I hope you enjoy this production as much as I do. So now sit back, relax, and enjoy Fiddler on the Roof. Let me start it, three, two, one, action!!!
Alexis Frohlich ~ Fruma Sarah
Hello! My name is Samantha Frohlich and I play a sister: Shana. I am very blessed to be able to join such a wonderful organization. I would like to thank my teachers Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Jeser, Miss Shpall, and Ms. Weinstein, without whom none of this would be possible. I also would like to thank my singing tutor Arianna who I meet with every Tuesday to work on “Matchmaker.” I believe the reason I improved was because of her guidance and honesty. I love to be in “Matchmaker.” Blocking and singing in it are just so much fun. If you could find a better cast than ours here at Wise School, I would do a back flip. Oops…got to go! I need to be on stage in about five minutes. Thanks for reading!
Samantha Frohlich ~ Shana, fourth of Tevye’s Daughter
Hello! My name is Stefan and I play Motel in the musical, Fiddler on the Roof. This year’s Fiddler on the Roof has definitely been one of God’s large and small miracles. The cast is very talented. I’ve been acting for two years now. Last year I got my first experience with the wonderful director, Mrs. Frankel-Koch. Even though I never got to be taught by her in kindergarten this experience has been as fun as kindergarten. Mrs. Jeser and Ms. Weinstein have covered this performance with music. Mrs. Itri has made every single show happen. My mom has driven me to every rehearsal, picked me up, and also helped me with my lines. Other activities I have are: I play the cello, which is similar to a fiddle, and I also am part of vocal ensemble. It’s fun being a poor tailor or a scraggly thing because I am pretty much poorer than every one else besides Penina, the beggar. Whatever it might be, I will do the play next year, but for now I will see you in Anatevka.
Stefan Gerber ~ Motel, the Tailor
When I was a little kid, my mom would take me to watch our school plays. Ever since then I wanted to be in them. During fourth and fifth grade I wanted to do sports, but in sixth grade I had the chance to do the play. At the beginning of the year I was so excited to be in the musical. When the first tryout came, I didn’t care which part I got as long as I could do the play. The day I got the Constable part, I was so happy, because it was just like the part that I had in a different show. So I was able to make the best of both of the shows. I hope you enjoy our Fiddler on the Roof!
Jeremy Goldenstein ~ His Honor, The Constable

Welcome to Wise School, and thank you for going back in the past with my family and me to see our story in the early 1900’s. My name is Samantha Harnick, and I am portraying the role of Golde in this year’s school musical. I admit Golde and her family’s life has some ups and downs, but we made it out okay. Being a hard working, caring, busy mother is not an easy job but if anyone can do it, Golde can. She has this spunk and love that is my favorite characteristic about this character. Fiddler on the Roof takes place in Anatevka, Russia. I have grown used to this town that we have created, and it will be hard to let it go in the end. Not only have I fallen in love with the story’s town, but another town. This town is the school musical. It is filled with talented, hard working, devoted, and musical people. From adults to children, we all are important. Most importantly, we wouldn’t be able to have both of our little towns without Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Jeser, Ms. Weinstein, and Miss Shpall. Miss Shpall is currently my advanced reading teacher in 6th grade. Throughout the year she has expanded the way I think and interpret. Over the year so far, Miss Shpall always is fully committed and always there for everyone. Her niece, Emma, and I have become close friends from our theater group aside from our schools. Miss Shpall came to our last play, The Sound of Music, and was always very supportive. Beside in the classroom, Miss I also couldn’t have done it without my supportive family, and friends. Well, I better finish this up because I’m sure the show will be starting soon. Hope you enjoy the past! And the story that lies behind it!
Samantha Harnick – Golde, wife of Tevye
Welcome to Anatevka! I’m Matt Hason and I’m happy to be playing Itzak in Fiddler on the Roof. You might recognize me when I yell, “Horse” in a fight with my good friend Jack Siegel also known as Avram. I love being in the play, because it is my first year doing the play and I’m very excited to be in it. That’s how I feel about me being in the school play.
Matt Hason ~ Itzak, a Villager
My name is Aaron Kermani and I’m in fifth grade. I’ve been attending Wise School since Mommy and Me. I’ve seen all the plays at Wise for the past five years. Last year when I saw the spring musical, The Little Mermaid, I knew by the end of that show that I wanted to be a part of stage crew. At the end of that show I saw all the cast taking their bows and by the time the stage crew came onto the stage, I knew I wanted to do that. Even though we are not in the show, it’s great to be part of the show. I also enjoy the time I spend with the other kids on set, even though some of them are not a part of my grade. I look forward to being in the stage crew again next year.
Aaron Kermani ~ Stage Crew

A Fiddler on the Roof, sounds crazy, no? Well, Wise School’s production of Fiddler on the Roof is also crazy, but in a good way. Hi, my name is Mary Lindner and in this wonderful show I play Hodel, the second oldest daughter of Tevye. This is my very first year doing the spring musical, let alone anything theatrical at all, and I am learning so much. If it weren’t for many of the kind, patient and giving people around me, I never would have known how to block onstage, how to cheat out, how to express myself through acting and singing, or what to do if there were ever “technical difficulties” during a show. I would like to thank all the wonderful teachers who helped out immensely with our musical: Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Jeser, Miss Shpall, and Ms. Weinstein for all of their endless love and compassion towards my fellow Thespians and me. Next, I would like to thank all my wonderful friends: Abby, Alexis, Samantha, Jeremy, and Ariela for all their support throughout this production, inspiring me to try my hardest and to make me think of just how lucky I am to have such amazing relationships with them. Mom and Dad, thank you for always being there for me, driving and picking me up from rehearsals, (trust me, I know how hard those early Sunday mornings can be!) Tristan, thank you for putting up with my singing, “Far From the Home I Love” and “If I Were a Rich Man” in my room all day long! From the little girl with a bad case of stage fright and a big singing secret, to the one who can show her true colors and be herself on the stage, I feel that I have grown so much as an actress and a person from doing this musical.
Mary Lindner ~ Hodel, second daughter of Tevye
Hi, my name is Tristan Lindner, and I’m a member of the stage crew for the Fiddler on the Roof production. I’m really excited to be on stage crew because ever since I saw The Little Mermaid last year, I thought, “Wow, I would love to see how this whole thing works!” And now, not only am I going to see how the play works, I’m going to be moving sets and props and making it work! Thank you so much for giving me this amazing opportunity.
Tristan Lindner ~ Stage Crew
Being in the spring musical, Fiddler on the Roof, reminds me of being on a sport’s team. This is not a one-man show; each and every one of us has to contribute to make this show possible. In a sport’s game, a mistake is a mistake, and there is nothing you can do about it. In a play rehearsal, mistakes are great! Every mistake you make is a learning opportunity. I would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Itri and Mrs. Frankel-Koch for directing this play, and Mrs. Jeser for doing all the music work. I would also like to thank everyone else who put the time and effort to make this play possible. There is nothing like being in the musical…it is great!
Evan Marks – Mordechai, the Innkeeper
Hi! I am Bella Melamed and I play the part of Miriam, a Villager’s daughter. Even though I did not get the part I wanted, I still got the best part for me. While we were at rehearsal, I
14
learned a lot about the theatre and that I would love to greet an even bigger part next time. I loved being in the play; it was so much fun doing it with all my friends from Anatevka: Bielke, Shprintze, Natanya, Bracha, and Dvorah.
Bella Melamed ~ Miriam, a Villager
Hi, my name is Natalie Melamed. I am in fourth grade and I am so excited to be a part of the spectacular spring musical, Fiddler on the Roof, at Wise Elementary School. This is my first year being in the play and this is a great opportunity for me to be part of a cast and perform in front of an audience. Even though, I didn’t get a lead role, I am still happy that I got a good part with lots of singing and dancing. It’s Showtime! Lights, Camera, Action! That’s my cue. Got to go! I hope you enjoy Fiddler on the Roof starring our amazing cast and me! Thank you!!
Natalie Melamed ~ Natanya, a Villager
I did stage crew because when I first saw the school play I saw the stage crew moving the set and the props and using cool gadgets like flashlights, walkie-talkies, and lights. I also wanted to get to know more about Fiddler on the Roof. When I heard my little brother, Jonathan, was doing it, I knew I wanted to get into stage crew badly because then I could watch my little brother perform and see how much he improved. I also wanted to be on stage crew because I get to see the play everyday. That is why I wanted to become part of the stage crew!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, MRS. ITRI AND MRS. FRANKEL-KOCH!
Ethan Mokhtarzadeh ~ Stage Crew
I am in fourth grade and attend Wise Elementary Religious School. I am the only student in the Religious School to participate in the school play. I joined the school play because Mrs. Jeser said it would be a lot of fun. Fiddler on the Roof is one of my favorite movies. Since this is the first time that I have been part of a play, I am excited to be part of it. I loved working with Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Itri, and Mrs. Jeser and enjoyed seeing my old friends from the day school.
Jonathan Mokhtarzadeh ~ Niccolai
Tradition…is as important to the role of Tevye as this show is to me. The highlights of my weeks were always the days I had rehearsal. I would leave from daylong practices feeling completely energized and alive. The show nourished parts of me as an individual as well as an actor. I, along with my fellow cast members, was surely fortunate to be inspired by our gifted mentors: Mrs. Mary Itri, Mrs. Julie Frankel-Koch, and Mrs. Faye Jeser. They taught us
15
selflessly with a keen sense of each one of our strengths and weaknesses, thereby sharpening all of our deeper gifts. And like Tevye’s devoted passion for Judaism, I was able to find my passion in the world of theatre. This has truly been an unforgettable and remarkable journey--one for which I am deeply grateful. I quite enjoyed the many little moments as well. For example, I was given the opportunity to assist in the construction of several props using materials I found backstage. I realized that a show is not a show without all that goes on behind the scenes. It is not just the performers that you see on stage, but the whole ensemble that makes it happen. Without them, we would not have been able to put this production together. It was a lesson in teamwork. I also enjoyed bonding with my fellow fifth grade Thespians (we were actually fooling around backstage…don’t worry, Mrs. Itri, we were quiet.) This is hopefully the first of many productions I hope to be a part of. I dream of writing scripts and directing in my future, and I know who I will not forget in my journey. To Life!!!!
Alon Moradi ~ Tevye
ACTION! Hi, I’m Bella Ravaei aka SpongeBob Squarepants; I play the role of Chava. Okay, let’s start again. Hello, I’m Bella Ravaei aka SpongeBob Squarepants aka Chava! When I found out that I was playing the role of Chava I was so excited! I am so happy to be in this year’s play Fiddler on the Roof because it is my first time performing in a play! My favorite song is “Matchmaker” because it makes everyone want to get on his or her feet and do cartwheels! The tune is so fun. I love being part of this amazing play because growing up my parents were always singing, “L’Chaim,” “Tradition,” “Matchmaker” and a lot more of these songs. I couldn’t relate until I started practicing the play. Sooner or later, I was singing these songs night and day! I had a great time working with Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Jeser, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Miss Shpall, and, of course, my fellow cast members during the play rehearsals.
THAT’S A RAP!
Bella Ravaei – Chava, third daughter of Tevye
Hello, my name is Yehonatan Resnick, but in the little village of Anatevka I go by the name of Lazar Wolf. I am a butcher and the wealthiest man in this Russian village. I used to have a wife named Fruma Sarah, but she passed away. Now I like Tevye’s daughter, Tzeitel. Well, I have to go to the bar to talk to Tevye about giving me permission to marry his daughter. Then we will have an agreement! See you at the show!
Yehonatan Resnick ~ Lazar Wolf, the Butcher
Hello, my name is Skye and I play Raisa in the Fiddler on the Roof. This experience has been amazing and I’ve met so many people. My friends have been so supportive and sweet to me. When I need to learn a line or a scene, they are helpful. The best part about the play is
16
that Mrs. Jeser, Miss Shpall, Mrs. Weinstein, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, and most of all Mrs. Itri have helped me when I needed help with my lines or a friend problem. Mrs. Itri has been the best homeroom and play director I’ve ever had. Well, I better go, the show’s starting…so sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
Skye Rubin ~ Raisa, a Villager
Hi! My name is Lauren Shooshani and I am in 4th grade. In the musical, Fiddler on the Roof, I play Shprintze, one of Tevye’s youngest daughters. I’m very excited because it is my first year doing the play. Over the summer I acted in Lion King with Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, and Mrs. Jeser. I met many talented kids when I did Lion King. This year my Wise School friends did the play as well. I love acting and pretending to be different characters. I am so lucky that I have the opportunity to do the musical. This has been a great experience and.....LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! Oh no! The show is starting! “Tradition…Tradition…” Oops! That’s my cue! Got to go. See you at the show!
Lauren Shooshani ~ Shprintze, sixth daughter of Tevye
It is quite a pleasure to be in the play. There is an amazing cast with really talented actors. My character in the play is Avram, which also happens to be my Hebrew name. I am the one who gets in a fight with Itzak, shouting, “Horse! Mule!” I enjoy having great teachers that are great actors and musicians. I LOVE the play!!!!!
Jack Siegel ~ Avram, a Villager 3
My name is Natalya Soofer! I am part of the stage crew. I signed up for stage crew because I thought that it would be an amazing experience and also because my brother was part of stage crew many years ago. I think that this year’s play will be perfect. With all the great actors performing, and, of course, the even greater stage crew, I think that this will be very, very fun. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the play, Fiddler on the Roof!
Natalya Soofer – Stage Crew
The first play I ever watched was Peter Pan, which was awe-inspiring. I was astonished about how the stage crew was able to move the sets. In the second scene when I saw the set being different, I thought, “I want to be part of this magic.” When I had the chance to join, I, Rohm Stark, was so excited I jumped right to the sign-up sheet. I am excited to make this play, Fiddler on the Roof, one of the best plays.
Rohm Stark ~ Stage Crew

Hello, my name is Emily Vanek and I play Yente the Matchmaker in the thrilling show Fiddler on the Roof. I was really excited to do the musical as a sixth grader because this is my last year at Wise School, so I wanted to make it the best year…full of fun, laughter, and, of course, “Tradition.” I have made so many friends throughout this experience that have helped me with my lines and made me a better actor. I would like to thank Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Jeser, Ms. Weinstein, and Miss Shpall for making this experience not just fun, but an experience that I will never forget while I grow as a performer. Well, that’s my cue. See you in the audience!
Emily Vanek ~ Yenta, the Matchmaker
My name is Abby Yadegar, and I portray the role of Tzeitel in this year’s spring musical. After doing some research, I was able to interpret the character in my own way. I stepped into this rebellious young girl’s shoes and used my creativity and imagination to unleash the Tzeitel within me. My absolute favorite thing to do is to sing and act, so when I returned to the stage I definitely wasn’t, as Tevye reveals, “a stranger in a strange land.”
I’d like to thank my jaw-dropping teachers: Mrs. Tanner, Miss Rabin, Mrs. Burch, Mrs. Orevi, Mrs. Zawatsky, and Rabbi Medwin. You have supported me and taught me throughout this whole experience. Five people who have really inspired me these past few months are: Ms. Weinstein, Miss Shpall, Mrs. Jeser, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, and (of course,) Mrs. Itri. You have all brought this play “to life,” and I don’t know where I would be without you.
Next, my friends: Ethan B, Jake, Sam, Alexis, Kaylah, Jeremy, Rohm, Tristan, Mary, Rachel, Ellie, Ariela, Ashley, Elijah, Yehonatan, and Kate. You guys always make me laugh, and you support me everyday. Finally, (and CERTAINLY not the least,) my family: Mom, Dad, Danny, (and the four pups.) I love you all to bits. I know how many sacrifices you all made for me to be able to be a part of this show, and I am so grateful for your dedication and support. You’ve given me the confidence to stand up on stage.
Abby Yadegar ~ Tzeitel, eldest of Tevye’s daughters
I am Sophia Yadidi and I am Bielke in the play Fiddler on the Roof. I am one of Tevye’s daughters, the youngest of all seven daughters. It is such an honor to be in a lead role especially when I am only in 4th grade. Next year when I am in 5th grade, I hope to get a lead role. Then when I am in 6th grade that will be my last year in Wise School. It has been so much fun working with the cast and all of the teachers, Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel-Koch, Mrs. Jeser, Miss Shpall, and Ms. Weinstein, who help me with my scenes and make me better with getting more attitude. I have had a great experience and I love it. I HOPE YOU LOVE THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello and welcome to Anatevka! You may have heard of Fiddler on the Roof, but you have never actually seen it until you have seen our production of Fiddler On The Roof. My name is Ariela Zweiback and I play the role of Grandmother Tzeitel. This has been the most amazing experience; we have learned so much. This experience has been full of dancing, singing, acting, and most of all tradition. I feel that I have grown closer to all of my friends in this production. I would like to say thank you to so many people starting off with Mrs. Itri, thank you so much for all you have done to help us grow, and make this production the most amazing show ever. You have been a huge role in all of our lives because you have made our dreams come true. Mrs. Jeser, thank you so, so much for all you have done. You have made music come to life. I am so grateful for you because when I am sad, you are the person that I know can cheer me up and make my whole day better. Mrs. Frankel-Koch and Ms. Weinstein, you have made this whole thing possible. You bring light and joy to this production. Thank you, Ms. Weinstein, for helping and choreographing my dances and everyone’s dances. Mrs. Frankel-Koch, thank you for blocking so many scenes. Finally thank you, Miss Shpall, thank you so much for organizing us and helping the magic come to life. I know it must be hard to keep us organized backstage. I hope you enjoy the magic of our show, and for all of you who supported the show may you be blessed on the head.
Ariela Zweiback – Grandmother Tzeitel, Shabbat Queen, Bottle Dancer, Russian Dancer
