Many of the activities and lessons from the Biomed Camp were modeled from the Principles of Biomedical Science (PBS) course lessons and activities.
Student Feedback 93.9% of the students who attended reported that they liked the activities they participated in during Biomed Camp.
“I liked the blood type experiment because it simulated how people actually figure out blood type. It was hands on and felt kind of like a puzzle to me.”
“My favorite activity was the Gel Electrophoresis lab because the concept and
equipment was new to me and I got to meet and work with new people in the
process.”
Parent Feedback 98.8% of parents reported their student had a positive experience at Biomed Camp.
“He enjoyed the electrophoresis machine and extraction of DNA. There are so many advances happening in the Biomedical front in America today, this could be introduction to our kids, with an option to do further study as they continue in their individual paths”
“It was a camp outside the box. I think it opens kid's eyes to possibilities.”
“I liked that they learned how to take a pulse and blood pressure. It’s good to know how to take these important vitals especially in an emergency”
Thank you!
