Introduction This section provides an overview of the basic FHA Handbookseries and

features available on the FHA Handbookportal.

Note: The procedures for using the site to access the FHA Handbookcontent

and related updates/archives are located in later sections of this chapter.

FHA Handbook Portal Home Page

Accessing the

FHAHandbookPortal Home

Page

The FHA Handbookportal home page is a little different from a typical Web

site home page in that it can be one of two tabs, Welcome or Updates. Thetab displayed is dependent on whether the FHA Handbookportal is beingaccessed for the first time and/or whether or not there are updates to the FHA

Handbook portal.

Use the table below to determine which tab will display when accessing the

FHA Handbookportal home page.

If an individual is accessing the FHA

Handbook portal home page

Then the

at any time when there are no updates to theFHA Handbookportal

Welcome tab is displayed.

Notes:

Either the Welcome tab or Updates tab can be accessed at any time by

selecting the respective option from the home page hyperlinks or tabs on theFHA Handbookportal home page.

The Archives tab is only ever displayed when either of the following is

selected: Archives from the home page hyperlinks or the Archives tab.

Note: The size of the font for the FHA Handbookportal is automatically set

to small. To increase the size to medium, large, or extra large, click the

appropriate button under Adjust Font Size option (below the Contents andQuicklinks menu options on the left-hand side of the screen). The font size

can be adjusted at any time and on any screen of the FHA Handbookportal.

Introduction This topic provides information on

the location of the home page hyperlinks, and

how to use the home page hyperlinks.

Hyperlinks

There are hyperlinks located on every FHA Handbookportal page that returnyou to the home page. The arrows in the diagram below show the locations

of these hyperlinks on a typical content page.

When you click on the FHA Handbookportal hyperlink, you automatically

return to the default tab, which is either the

Updates tab, or

Welcome tab, if there are no current updates to be displayed.

Click on the respective home page hyperlink (below or to the left of the FHAHandbook portal hyperlink) whenever you wish to return specifically to either

the Welcome, Updates, or Archive tab.
