We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.1 Thessalonians 1:2 (NIV)

Prayer is a foundational part of our lives as Christ followers. Through faithful prayer we draw closer to God and to His heart for others and the world. As we intercede in prayer for those around us, we not only lift requests to God on their behalf but also grow deeper bonds of love

and fellowship with those we pray for.

Commitment:We ask for you to commit to praying for your prayer partner(s) at least 2 or 3 times each week.Of course, we invite you to pray for them every day as part of your own daily prayer time too!

Instructions:1. Set aside in advance specific times during the day or week when you will commit to pray.2. Read through the scriptures provided to focus your thoughts on the weekly prayer theme. 3. Pray for the requests listed on your prayer partner info card and for any other needs that the Holy Spirit brings to mind during your prayer time.4. End your prayer time with the provided prayer based on the weekly prayer theme.

Week 1: October 7-13Prayer Focus: Trust & Faith

Psalm 111:10 (NIV)10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV)Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 (NLT)14 But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. 15You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Prayer:Our Creator and Lord, I ask that _________ would trust in you completely in all circumstances they face and that they would not lean on their own understanding in the decisions they face.I pray that_______ would seek to do your will and that you would show them the path to take. May______ know that it is by grace they are saved and not by what they have done. I pray for an abundance of faith for ______. Week 2: October 14-20Prayer Focus: Strength & Weakness

John 15:5 (NIV)5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Psalm 119:9-11 (NIV)9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Ephesians 1:16-20 (NIV)16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,

For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Week 3: October 21-27Prayer Focus: Wisdom & Discernment

Matthew 5:8 (NIV)8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Matthew 6:33 (NLT)33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Ephesians 5:15-18 (NLT)15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,

1 Corinthians 3:18-23 (NIV)18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” 21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! Philippians 1:9-10 (NLT)9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.

Prayer:O Lord, we know that our lives are filled with joy when we walk according to your Word. I pray that _______________ will obey your voice and search for you will all their heart today. Help _______________ not to compromise and take shortcuts on their journey with you. May their actions and choices today be consistent with what they have learned about you and your will for their life. May they be filled with joy as the see and experience the fruit that comes from a life connected to the vine of truth.

Lord when _______________ stumble and grow tired on the path, let them know that you never give up on them and that you will help them to find their way again. I pray that you will guard their heart and mind as you restore them to relationship with you. Fill them with your presence and help ______________ to remember each day what you written in your Word. Week 4: October 28 – November 3Prayer Focus: Joy & Hope

Psalm 145:4-6 (NIV)4 One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.5 They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works.6 They tell of the power of your awesome works — and I will proclaim your great deeds.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (NIV)17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Romans 5:1-5 (NLT)5 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Romans 15:13 (NLT)13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jude 1:24-25 (NIV)24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Prayer:Gracious Lord, Today I lift _________________ before you and ask that you grant them great joy this week. Not simply happiness that is quick to come and go, but a deeply rooted joy that comes from you and grows continually.Protect _________________ from discouragement, despair, and apathy. I pray that they will look to you in times of difficulty and praise you for the goodness that you give each of us in your love, mercy, and grace. Grant them opportunities to not only experience the joy you give us, but to also share it with others, especially people who don’t know you yet. Amen.

Week 5: November 4-10Prayer Focus: Worries and Fears

Hebrews 13:5-6 (NIV)5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Matthew 6:31-34 (NLT)31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Luke 2:14 (NIV)14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

2 Thessalonians 3:16 (NLT)16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 John 4:18 (NIV)18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love

Prayer:Our Lord and Saviour I ask that you would give _______your deep and abiding peace in their lives. Encourage them to look to you to drive out the anxiety and fears they may face. Give ______ an understanding of your great love. I pray they would learn to be thankful in all situations, to love others as you love us, so that they may learn to love you more. Week 6: November 11-17Prayer Focus: A Servant Heart

Psalm 51:10-12 (NIV)10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Colossians 3:17 (NIV)17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

1 Timothy 6:10 (NLT)10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

John 13:34-35 (NIV)34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Galatians 5:13-14 (NLT)13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbour as yourself.”

Prayer:Heavenly Father, we thank you for your son Jesus, who gave himself up for our sake. Let __________ do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility give consideration to others as they go about their day. Let __________ look not only to their own interests, but also to give attention to the interests of others. As ___________seeks you today, help their attitude to be like that of Jesus Christ. Week 7: November 18-24Prayer Focus: Spiritual Growth

James 3:13, 17-18 (NIV)13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Hebrews 10:23-25 (NIV)23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

1 Peter 2:4-5 (NIV)4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ

Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Micah 6:8 (NIV)8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Proverbs 5:1-2 (NLT)5 My son, pay attention to my wisdom; listen carefully to my wise counsel.2 Then you will show discernment, and your lips will express what you’ve learned.

Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

1 John 1:2-4 (NLT)2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. Prayer:Lord Jesus, You came to the world to bring light into darkness, and you call us to do the same in your name. This week I pray for you to give ____________________ opportunities to be a light in the world.

When light comes into darkness we can see clearly and walk with greater confidence. Help __________________ to show your love and grace clearly to the people they see each day. Help them to walk with confidence into conversations and relationships with people who need your light. Encourage their spirit. Let them share your light with others through their actions and their words, reflecting your deep love and desire to be reconciled to all people.

You call us to go and make disciples of all nations. Journey with _____________ as they live into that calling by loving you and loving their neighbours. We pray that your light spread all over the world so that more and more people come to know you. Amen.
