What do I need for class today?
Feudalisma social system that existed in Europe
during the Middle Ages in which people worked and fought for nobles who
gave them protection and the use of land in return
Pope/Church• : the head of the Roman Catholic Church; the
most powerful position during the Feudal period
Monarch• : a person (such as a king or queen) who rules a kingdom or empire
Nobles• : having, showing, or coming from personal
qualities that people admire (such as honesty, generosity, courage, etc.)
• : of, relating to, or belonging to the highest social class : of, relating to, or belonging to the nobility
Knights• : a soldier in the past who had a high social rank
and who fought while riding a horse and usually wearing armor
• : a man who is given a special honor and the title of Sir by the king or queen of England
Vassals• : a person under the protection of a feudal lord to
whom he has vowed homage and fealty : a feudal tenant
• : one in a subservient or subordinate position
Merchants• : someone who buys and sells goods especially in
large amounts and trades these goods to turn a profit
Craftsmen• : a person (especially a man) who is very skilled at
doing something or building something
Peasants• : a poor farmer or farm worker who has low social
status• : a person who is not educated and has low social
status
Serfs• a person in the past who belonged to a low
social class and who lived and worked on land owned by another person
