2015 Christchurch International High School Netball Festival Tournament Rules & Regulations 1. The Christchurch International High School Netball Festival is in its inaugural year and is co-hosted by St Margaret’s Girls School and Rangi Ruru Girls’ School. 2. A team will have a maximum of twelve players. If there are any injuries no players in addition to the 12 will be able to be added to the team, however if the team hasn’t named 12 players, additional players up to the max 12 could be added during the Tournament. 3. Each team shall have at least one adult official approved by the school who will be responsible for the team members, and will assume responsibility for the team throughout the event. 4. All games will be played according to the International Rules of Netball with exception of the three ten minute periods and the 2 x 2min breaks. This means that substitutions can only be made in case of injury and in the breaks. 5. At all times, players should reflect credit on the school they represent. Players who deviate from the normal accepted standards of behavior on or off the court may result in their immediate suspension. 6. 10 teams have entered into this year’s tournament. All teams will play in a Round Robin format competing against each of the other 9 teams and a final play-off placing game on Sunday. Points: Win = 4 points Draw = 2 points Bonus Points Loss of 3 goals or less = 1 Loss of more than 3 goals = 0 7. Final play off rankings 1-10 will be determined based on highest points at the end of the Round Robin up to and including Round 9 on Sunday morning. If teams are on equal points, placing shall be determined by goal ratio formula as follows: Total goals for divided by total goals against. Final Games If the game is a draw when full time is called the following will occur: The game will stop for two minutes, with substitutions able to be made. The Centre pass will remain the same Teams will not change sides Play continues until a team is ahead by two goals 8.   • Team Responsibilities

    1. Teams are responsible for all costs related to the attendance and performance of their team and players at the Festival.

    2. It is the Team Managers responsibility to ensure that the team: a. has a first aid kit and that all players receive proper medical attention in cases of injury or

    sickness b. has a risk management plan in place c. is conversant with the tournament rules d. is ready to play on time

    3. All teams must supply one person to either score or time keep during their game in the designated location beside the court.

    Venue for the Festival

    Games will be played on two courts at St Margarets Girls School, throughout the Festival. Court 1 will be the indoor gymnasium court and Court 2 an outdoor court.

    In the event of very wet weather the Event Manager will make the decision as to if we transfer the Court 2 matches to the Rangi Ruru Girls School Indoor court which has been set aside for this contingency.

    Draw and Teams

    A provisional draw has been released to all teams. Any changes to this will be advised at the Managers meeting prior to the tournament.

    If a team fails to turn up or arrives more than 5mins late for the start of their match they will default the game with full winning points to the opposition.

    Umpires

    The Festival, with the support of Christchurch Netball Centre has arranged for local Umpires to assist throughout the 3 days of competition. All games will be dual controlled.

    Protests

    1. Any protest arising from a game must be lodged in writing with the Event Manager within 30mins of the end of the game.

    2. The protest must be in writing and accompanied by a fee of $25 which is refundable if the protest is upheld. NB there will be no official videoing of the matches.

    3. The protest Committee will hear and decide upon a protest as soon as possible.

    Most Valuable Player Nominations

    Each Team Manager will be given 9 Most Valuable Player cards before the start of the tournament. After each game the team needs to complete the card nominating a player from the opposing team as their choice of MVP. This card needs to be submitted to tournament control as soon as possible at the conclusion of each game.

    Team Officials

    Coaching is allowed from the team bench/side of the court (be it sitting or standing) while play is in progress. However team officials and sideline players may not indulge in inappropriate comments or behavior, including moving up and down the side lines or goal lines during play.
