PLEDGE
AUM SRI SAI RAM
I hereby solemnly pledge that I will harmonise my thought, word and deed to carry
out the duties ordained by Bhagawan for me through the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization.
I will strive hard for the constant progress of the organization to the best of my ability
within the framework of the Organization.
I will extend my utmost cooperation for the activities planned by the organization and
act such that my life shell become Bhagawan’s message.
TRUE AIM OF EDUCATION
The Sri Sathya Sai System of Integral Education aims at the physical, mental,
emotional, intellectual and spiritual development of every student. Bhagwan
wants every student to be an ideal student having the rare combination of the head
of
Adishankara (symbolising the path of wisdom), the heart of Gautam Buddha
(symbolising the path of love and compassion) and the hands of king janaka
(symbolising the path of detached action). Bhagwan says that in his colleges, the
medium of instruction should be Discipline, Love, Service and Sadhana should be
the first, second and third languages. To achieve this end, Bhagwan his
incessantly given all His time and energy for the sake of His students, in order to
mould them into integrated and balanced personalities that He wants them to be.
“Do not be under the impression that you and I have come together only now,
since you study in this college. You have come to Me for the sake of far higher
triumphs, as a consequence of merit acquired in many previous lives. You and
your teachers are destined to perform tremendous task under My Guidance, in the
execution of the Mission on which I have come!” Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

PRAYER FOR THE SOUL
O Master!
Thou art the real goal of human life.
We are yet but slaves of wishes
Putting bar to our advancement.
Thou art the only God and Power
To bring us up to that stage.
Amen.
The first line of the prayer affirms our goal. The word Master refers to God and God alone,
the ultimate Master who resides in each and every heart. The human’s spiritual guide, or
Master, is one who helps aspirants establish contact with their inner divinity. The second line
of the prayer refers to our present state, acknowledging that we are the creators of our own
problems and that our wishes and attachments are obstacles to our progress. The third
statement points to the source of our liberation, recognizing that it is God alone who can help
us rise to the higher state of existence.
We should always pray to the supreme Master the Omnipotent and the Omniscient alone with a mind
totally absorbed in love and submission for Him forgetting even ourselves altogether.
Difference between a Guru and a Teacher A teacher takes responsibility for your growth.
A Guru makes you responsible for your growth.
A teacher gives you things you do not have and require.
A Guru takes away things you have and do not require.
A teacher answers your questions.
A Guru questions your answers.
A teacher helps you get out of the maze.
A Guru destroys the maze.
A teacher requires obedience and discipline from the pupil.
A Guru requires trust and humility from the pupil.
A teacher clothes you and prepares you for the outer journey.
A Guru strips you naked and prepares you for the inner journey.
A teacher is a guide on the path.
A Guru is a pointer to the way.
A teacher sends you on the road to success.
A Guru sends you on the road to freedom.
A teacher explains the world and its nature to you.
A Guru explains yourself and your nature to you.
A teacher makes you understand how to move about in the world.
A Guru shows you where you stand in relation to the world.
A teacher gives you knowledge and boosts your ego.
A Guru takes away your knowledge and punctures your ego.
A teacher instructs you.
A Guru constructs you.
A teacher sharpens your mind.
A Guru opens your mind.
A teacher shows you the way to prosperity.
A Guru shows you the way to posterity.
A teacher reaches your mind.
A Guru touches your spirit.
A teacher gives you knowledge.
A Guru makes you wise.
A teacher gives you maturity.
A Guru returns you to innocence.
A teacher instructs you on how to solve problems.
A Guru shows you how to resolve issues.
A teacher is a systematic thinker.
A Guru is a lateral thinker.
A teacher will punish you with a stick.
A Guru will punish you with compassion.
A teacher is to pupil what a father is to son.
A Guru is to pupil what mother is to her child.
One can always find a teacher.
But a Guru has to find and accept you.
A teacher leads you by the hand.
A Guru leads you by example.
When a teacher finishes with you, you celebrate.
When a Guru finishes with you, life celebrates.
When the course is over you are thankful to the teacher.
When the discourse is over you are grateful to the Guru.
Let us honor both, the teachers and the Guru in our life.
