CLASSIFICATION
1. INTRODUCTION
This classification report gives a classification of structural steel members protected by Aestuver boards in accordance with the procedures given in EN 13501-2:2007+A1:2009.
2. DETAILS OF CLASSIFIED PRODUCT
2.1 GENERAL
The Aestuver boards are defined as boxed applied passive protection to steel members. Two loaded beams, two reference beams and thirteen unloaded columns protected by Aestuver boards with thickness range of 15 mm to 50 mm were tested in accordance with EN 13381-4:2013. In total 4 tests were carried out at the laboratory of Efectis Nederland in Rijswijk, The Netherlands, on the following dates: • Test 1: 26/04/2013 • Test 2: 08/05/2013 • Test 3: 16/05/2013 • Test 4: 20/06/2013
2.2 DESCRIPTION
The product is fully described in the test report no. 2013-Efectis-R0116a.

2.2.2 Protection system
The applied fire protection system consists of a single layer boxed protection of Aestuver boards. All connections of the boards are created by staples. The cladding – Aestuver boards - is connected in case of joints in the boards to noggings which consist of a double layer of Aestuver boards of dimensions • 2x20 mm x 150 mm x distance between the flanges (cladding more than 15 mm thick) • 2x15 mm x 150 mm x distance between the flanges (cladding 15 mm thick) The centre-to-centre distance of the noggings is 1250 mm. Outer board of the nogging consist of two wedges – lower wedge is of height 4/5 and the upper wedge of height 1/5 of the overall height. The inner board of the nogging is made of one full height board. Scheme of the fire protection system is given in Appendix B.

4.1 REFERENCE OF CLASSIFICATION
The classification has been carried out in accordance with Clause 7 of EN 13501-2:2007 +A1:2009.
4.2 CLASSIFICATION
The element structural steel member protected by Aestuver boards is classified according to the following performance parameter and classes:
Fire resistance classification: R 15 – R 360
4.3 FIELD OF APPLICATION
This classification is valid for the following end use of applications:

Design steel temperature 350 ºC ≤ θa ≤ 750 ºC
Permitted section factor range:
45.9 m-1 ≤ Am/V ≤ 380.6 m-1
For section factors below the minimum permitted section factor the same protection thickness as that applied to the minimum section factor must be applied
Permitted protection thickness:
14.25 mm ≤ dp ≤ 52.5 mm
Grades of steel: Any structural grade (S designation) according to EN 10025-1 (excluding S185); engineering grades (E designation) shall not be used; the results may be also applicable to fabricated sections
