Call setup failure during RAB setup procedure.

  After RNC sent “RRC_RB_Setup” to UE , RNC start timer (5sec) to wait for response from UE , “RRC_RB_CMP” 

 After timer expired , RNC request CN to release Iu with abnormal cause : “Radio Connection With UE lost”  

Good DL radio Condition : EcIo -6 dB and RSCP -70dBm and UL radio Condition: RTWP ~ -104 to -105 dBm ,UE Tx Power = -16

  After RNC sent “RRC_RB_Setup” to UE , RNC start timer (5sec) to wait for response from UE , “RRC_RB_CMP” 

 After timer expired , RNC request CN to release Iu with abnormal cause : “Failure in the Radio Interface Procedure”  

 Good DL radio Condition : EcIo -10.5 dB and RSCP -72dBm and UL radio Condition: RTWP ~ -100 to -102 dBm ,UE Tx Power = -12 dBm

Conclusions

Conclusions

From Test Result with Sim “00” + different types of handsets, call setup failures only observed

when use Samsung Galaxy 2 handset which is Release 7 model, this issue found both f1 and f2

cell layer.

Nemo Nokia6720 - No problem foun d

iPhone 4 - No problem fo und  

Samsung Galaxy Cooper (R6) - No problem foun d  

SIERRA WIRELESS USB308 (R7) - No problem fou nd  

Samsung Galaxy 2 (R7) - call setup problem both Voice and data (2 terminals

shows similar issue)

This issue impact on KPI :

(1) RAB Setup Success Rate (CS & PS)(2) Drop call only observe when use NEMO test tool as MOC + Samsung Galaxy 2 as MTC.

This is due to Nemo drop call definition , when UE originate call, the call must be terminated by

UE otherwise this call will be considered as abnormal release (drop call).
