NATHA HOWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | SPRING 2019 FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER A Letter from the Principal , Monica Granados Dear Families? Welcome to our Fabulous February wildcat newsletter! Even though this is a short month, it's quite busy with student events and testing. With this being said, we look forward to a positive spring semester filled with purpose. We also celebrate African American History Month with art projects and cultural awareness learning. As we move forward please note that all students will engage in testing to measure progress. Lower grade teachers will monitor reading levels while upper grade teachers will measure both reading and math. It's very important that all students get a daily good nights rest and arrive to school by 7:50 am. In order to continue this pathway with progress and accountability, it's especially paramount to assure your child completes assignments, reads nightly for a minimum of twenty minutes and submits work on time to their teachers. Completing assignments includes success criteria by each student that will demonstrate taught strategies- showing their work, proper headings, dates, neatness, along with complete sentences and content vocabulary applied. Don't forget to check their behavior charts and academic planners too! Last but not least, we want to close with celebrations of AR dot colors. Last month our campus observed an overall increase in reading grade level goals and or advanced levels than any other month combined. Thanks to all our parent volunteers and wildcat scholars to placing reading first. If you would like to know your child's dot color, see our AR chart attached. ESCUELA ELEMENTAL NATHA HOWELL | PRIMAVERA 2019

FEBRERO

H OJA INFORM ATIVA
