CAPTIANS REPORT
Another month gone and another change to be made. Reports so far appear that golfers are happy that the Pig is now on the 11th (even Brian McMillian has got used to it).
By the time this goes to press you will have played the reverse 9s, with not too much confusion I hope.
The Greens keepers are doing a light coring of the greens next week so that they are ready for play for the Sunraysia Daily Masters Event 16th March.
LOCAL RULE CHANGES
GUR to RHS of 9th Fairway has now been removed, however the new green and surrounds remain GUR and the blue pegs denote drop zone
GUR has been removed on the LHS of the 8th Fairway

A THOUGHT FROM YOUR LOCAL PRO
Why does golf have to be so complicated?
Good news is it doesn’t! Yet far too many golfers insist on filling their minds with 101 tips from a variety of sources i.e., YouTube,
magazines, books and your mates.
I strongly believe that a technically overloaded and confused mind is the biggest problem with the average golfer which is why
I’m on a mission to help as many golfers as humanly possible to believe that the game can be simplified and enjoyed on a whole
new level once the basic fundamentals are understood and good swing habits have been ingrained.
My first objective with anyone who I teach is to gain an understanding of what they are trying to do and get an idea of what
concepts they believe to be correct in regards to technique whether it be the full swing or the shorter shots around the green.
Once I have established what the player is thinking I then begin to educate the player about the issues we have found and how
we intended to improve them with a plan to work on one thing at a time to eliminate the hundred odd thoughts and replace it with
one simple thought that can be practiced with a new level of confidence.
I find that the problem stems back to when a player first takes up the game full of enthusiasm then within their first 5 games
would receive at least 10 different ideas of how to swing the golf club which does two things.
It makes the new golfer believe that you must swing the club with an abundance of different ideas and if one doesn’t work just
try the next latest idea
Most importantly it confuses and frustrates the new golfer.
So are you are golfer who tends to think too much over the golf ball?
What’s the solution you say?
Let’s start by understanding it is possible to keep this game simple once the basics have been learnt and understood particularly
with players just starting the game, which I plan to tackle by creating a program that helps beginners of any age get off to the
right start.
If you wish to be improve your game and clear up all those crazy ideas and concepts please drop into the pro shop for a chat, I
would love to help you become a happy, consistent golfer.
And remember to keep it simple!!
