Dear IHM parents, It’s hard to believe it is February already with the ups and downs in the weather, one day it feels like winter and other days it feels like spring! We have had our share of flu and strep throat over the last month and a half and therefore we will continue to emphasize the importance of the students washing their hands and not sharing snacks with others. We appreciate your partnership in keeping children home until they have been fever free for 24 hours. Congratulations to the following students who have received scholarships to our Catholic high schools based on their high school placement test scores! Immaculate Heart of Mary School in conjunction with our Religious Education Classes will be collecting NEW AND USED shoes to donate to the SOLES4SOULS PROGRAM during the month of February. Since Soles4Souls began in 2006, they have distributed over 35 million pairs of shoes in 127 countries. But Every Single One of those pairs makes a difference in people’s lives. New shoes are given to registered nonprofit partners such as churches, shelters & disaster relief organizations. Used shoes are transported to vetted nonprofit organizations on the ground in developing nations. Selling the shoes help those to generate income which helps these families lift themselves out of poverty. Have your children bring in all shoes (new, used, or even those without a mate) and put them in the designated bins. At the end of February, our Religious Education department will be delivering them to Soles4Souls. Thank You in Advance for your generosity and support. We love the new benches on the playground! Over the past two years, Cub Scouts from Den 11, Pack 727 in Burlington have been collecting plastic caps for recycling by Green Tree Plastics in Evansville, IN. The boys collected over 600 pounds of caps and through generous donations from the Ebner Webster family, the Boone Dockers of IHM, and American Heritage Girl Troop 3210, the boys were able to present 3 benches to Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Burlington for use on the school’s playground.

Collecting Shoes for the month of February
CLC was able to assemble 80 backpacks for the homeless! The backpacks are being distributed to Mary Rose Garden, and the Northern Kentucky Emergency Shelter. Remember, we can always use new or gently used backpacks for next year, so please send them in anytime to Mrs. Williams. Many thanks to all who donated items to help others in need! (Not all CLC members were present for the photo.)

IHM’s Lenten Fish Fry has been running strong for over 30 years and features a full menu of all homemade food selections. Menu items include hand breaded fish, shrimp, crab cakes, grilled cheese, cheese pizza, french fries, mac and cheese and cole slaw. One specialty item that keeps the patrons coming back is the famous Tommy Boy sandwich. This truly unique sandwich consists of a hand breaded cod filet layered into a warm and tasty grilled cheese sandwich – it is truly a fan favorite.
IHM’s Fish Fry’s hours are from 4:30pm to 7:15pm for drive-thru and from 5:00pm to 8:00pm for dine-in. IHM Fish Fry will run every Friday beginning February 28th through April 3rd.

Do you have a child diagnosed with ADHD or does your child demonstrate difficulties focusing and completing school work?
Does your child struggle with things like organization, time management, planning and prioritizing?
Is homework a daily struggle? Do you want more information regarding all treatment
options for ADHD as well as more information regarding the latest research on ADHD?
If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, please consider attending one or both of the above presentations for more information on how to better understand and support your child. My name is Kim Hillenbrand, I am an IHM parishioner and parent (of a child with ADHD), as well as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience and certification through The Institute Of Certified ADHD Professionals. I will be presenting two sessions designed to provide parents with more information, support and tools to assist their children with both ADHD and/or Executive Function deficits. Your child does NOT have to be diagnosed with ADHD to attend…..many students (as well as adults) struggle with Executive Functions and do not have ADHD!
