Case study: Role of TNCs

• BACKGROUND: Walmart wants to build a superstore in the local community of Simla, Northern India. Simla is a small farming town. Most of the businesses in the town are owned and operated by the local people. The town has mainly families belonging to farmers. There is also one seamstress, one convenient store, and two grocery shops. Most of what the town has in its shops are grown, made and sold in Simla. There are a few B roads in the town.

TASK: Draw and annotate a sketch map to show how Simla might change after Wal-Mart builds their store. Use your map skills to help you with your sketch map.
