"First Monday" Prayer Meeting with FMBC

At 8:00 am on February 7th, we will hold our monthly joint prayer

meeting with members of First Missionary Baptist. We will no longer

alternate locations, which became somewhat confusing for participants.

Instead, our permanent meeting place will be the FMBC prayer chapel.

We believe that God has raised up this group to not only pray for our two churches, but to help us find ways to minister together to reach Huntsville and beyond. As some of you may

know, members of both churches par-ticipated in a recent medical

mission trip to Haiti led by Dr. Graham, and we're planning to return together

Even if you cannot attend, I hope you will pray for guidance as we seek

to know God's plan for forming this group. For more information, call

A gathering of Young Adults: Knowing, loving, serving CHRIST…together

I suppose it is the greatest sermon ever preached. Who could do better than Jesus in preaching a sermon? We call it the Sermon on the Mount and it is found in Matthew 5-7. The sermon begins with the Beatitudes in the first twelve verses and then moves to a stirring description of what life in the Kingdom of God is like.

For the next three Sundays we will look at the fifth chapter of Matthew. Since I have already

done a full series on the Beatitudes, I will begin with verse 13 and move to the end of the chapter. Will you join me as we listen to this sermon from Jesus? Here is our plan for worship over the next few weeks.

February 6 “The Paradox of the Church” Matthew 5:13-20

February 13 “Healing the Angry Heart” Matthew 5:21-37

February 20 “The Right Thing to Do” Matthew 5:38-48

As we prepare for worship that is coming up in the next few weeks, I encourage you to put on your calendar Sunday night, February 13. That is the night that we will be worshiping with our friends at First Missionary Baptist Church on Blue Spring Road. We will meet in their building at 6:30 on that night. I will be preaching and our musicians will be leading. A fellowship time will follow the service. Many of you have found this to be a wonderful experience of worship each year. If you have never joined us for this service, why don’t you come join us this year? I think that you will find this worship to be a blessing to you.

Come, let us worship together . . .

To worship is to quicken the conscience by the Holiness of GodTo feed the mind with the Truth of God

To purge the imagination by the Beauty of GodTo devote the will to the Purpose of God.
